I moved to Grants Pass in 2012 and took my 4Runner to what was then Wheeler Toyota for any servicing. I had always been satisfied with the work done and the competitive pricing offered. So here in June 2019 I had my first opportunity to interface with the new ownership and now simply called Grants Pass Toyota.
I called them for a quote on the replacement of the timing belt & water pump which is called out for the 90,000 mile servicing. The service rep quoted me $1100.00 for the work, I had researched this servicing beforehand and knew that was way on the high side. I repeated back to the service rep the work requested so there was no misunderstanding of what I was requesting.
I then called .. in Medford for a quote, without mentioning my call to Grants Pass Toyota. ... quoted me $765.00 for the exact same work.
Afterwards I called Grants Pass Toyota and asked to speak with the service manager. I was routed to the voice mail for a service manager named Jimmy. I left a polite message asking if he could please confirm that I received an accurate quote for this work because ... does this for $335.00 less. Also, if it was an accurate quote from them, would they be willing to match ... pricing.
Apparently Jimmy was not comfortable explaining their pricing nor did he seem to care about keeping me as a customer because he never returned my call.
Obviously I had the work done in Medford, you can make your own decision on where to take your car.
