Above and beyond... I just moved here from the east coast so I haven't a clue where to go for certain things, ie car repairs. An associate from work told me about Tucker Tires so I decided to try them out. I must say I was less than impressed with every facet of the business they run. The prices were okay nothing special, it was the grumpy gray haired man I found distasteful as he did nothing but complain at the workers. One good thing did come of it though I needed brakes as well and right next door was Grants Brakes. There I spoke to Chris who went above and beyond making it possible for me to kill two birds with one Qstone. I found my new brake shop, as for tires, when these need replacing it looks like I'll need to still yet find another tire store.\r more

We have been going to Grant's Brakes for close to 20 years now. We live in San Diego County now but still we and our kids take their cars to Grants for excellent service and workmanship. We have never had a problem with any service or parts received from Grants Brakes. We have always been very happy with the service and workmanship. The friendly smile and low prices are the icing on the cake. We have never have had any problems with Grant, his employees or service etc!!!!! more

I just went to Grant's Brake shop with my BMW and Grants checked my brakes for FREE. I did not expect to have a brake shop do anything for FREE. They were genuine and honest by showing me exactly what they were going to do for me. At that point I felt at ease and very comfortable with them. I needed brakes and pads all the way around and they gave me an estimate that was extremely lower than any other shop that I had called in the area. This was so helpful for me. I am a busy woman and my time is valuable I was in and out within an hour. Also I was there when the parts guy dropped off the parts and I made sure they were up to par. I will go back to Grants and I will continue to recommend Grants to everyone and anyone who needs a Nice, Honest, and hard worker that means what he says and will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the work you needed. more

I dont normaly write reviews.....BUT i had to on this one. I have been going to Grants ever since he started. ALL my relatives, friends, neighbors, etc...go to him. My wife or myself drop the car off, Grant fixes the brakes (FAST + ACCURATE), and charges a VERY fair price. i have never-ever seen Grant or his employees rude>>>NEVER>>>. My wife and alot of her FEMALE friends, who we have reffered, have dropped there cars off to him......He even has gone as far as buying people that were waiting for there brakes,coffee and food of the meal truck.\r \r In my sincere/honest opinion, it seems VERY LIKELY the woman who did the negative review (errismontoya) is trying to start something. I went to Grants Brakes because of the positive reviews written here. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I did. Within 6 months, the right front shim slipped out of place. I had no idea what had happened. The car was making a horrific noise. I thought it was the tire. Took the car to a tire company and was told , and have documentation, that the tires were fine. It was the BAD BRAKE JOB. Not only had the shim slipped, he said the absolute cheapest parts had been used. I called and Grant tried to infer it was something either I had done, or the tire place. He was rude, impossible to talk to, and continued to talk over me. SHODDY, dishonest and should be sued. I am just to busy. PS. I am female, and believe he would never have talked to a man like that. It is always scary to trust your car to someone new, but Grant was very friendly and he did what he promised. The car was done promptly and he called when he said he would. Grant is an honest guy that's been there for a while. Right next to Tucker tire. I brought my van there when the Toyota dealership said I needed new brakes. The guy at Grants told me I didn't and to come back in 6 - 8 months for a free look-see. I trust them.
