This place I have to say is fun. I recommend going at least once!! Yes its busy and the seating time is always a wait.. But The Scooner Sundaes are huge and delicious the food is pretty good, mostly average depending on what you order! But I think its the atmosphere that attracts people.. Its by the pier and its always fun there!! Yes sometimes you dont always get the best service from your waiter. It really depends on their mood! sometimes you can get the funnest one! I'm not sure why this place is such an attraction. The food is average at best. The burgers are greasy, the steak gristly, and everything is expensive. I guess if you really need to stop in and check the place out, just sit at the bar and have a couple of drinks. Try the Lake Superior brand beers that they usually have. When living in Duluth, or just visiting Grandma's Saloon and Grill is a must stop. The decor is wonderful and the service is top notch. You can fill your stomach with anything from burgers to pastas. For a burger, try the Bicycle burger, or for the spicier fare enjoy the cajun chicken fettucini. You can also enjoy any drink you can think of. 5 of us went here to eat one weekday for lunch, 3 adults, 2 children. The waitress was t obusy with other tables to realize we were even there to take a drink order for about 10-15 mins. After we finally got our drinks and were ready to order we did...the food came 45 minutes later, some of the food was cold, some was over-cooked and one meal was not right at all. The waitress did not return for another 20 mins and then wanted to know if we wanted new meals....which we didnt, we were there for lunch not dinner. She then TOOK the wrong meal, w/o offering something different or such and the ONLY thing they did was take the meal off the bill. Will not go there AGAIN! Don't get me wrong, food is good, service is good as well, but there is nothing special about this place what-so-ever... But to call it romantic! Huh? I don't see that at all... Next time I go to Duluth I will probably skip this place and treat it more like the bar that it is and go someplace else for lunch or dinner. I know Duluth is known for it's Grandma's restaurants, but it's nothing more than a TGI Friday's or Applebee's type restaurant. more

The environment of Grandma's make you feel at home, while have a fun feeling. The wait staff are friendly and poliet. The food is so wonderful, you don't want to waste any of it, yet the portions are LARGE!!!! Recommend the pizza, salad, and all desserts!!! Pros: Valueable, Good location(s) Cons: icky bathrooms more
