I recently moved to a home in North Ridge Country Club from the West Coast. The house needed updating and was a very different style than our home in California. A neighbor recommended that I call Grand South Design. After our initial 2 hour consultation with the owner, Leslie Wooddy, we knew we had made the right decision. She listened intently, asked questions regarding our taste and lifestyle, and offered suggestions. Most impressive was her professionalism, eye for detail, and desire to help make our home both lovely and comfortable. She brought in professional painters, helped us select a stylish new kitchen granite countertop, and coordinated a beautiful tile backsplash. The window coverings she designed and fabricated for our new home are spectacular! Leslie made my move to Raleigh a welcome and stress free experience. She took care of all of the details. more

Leslie, the owner of Grand South, sold us very expensive blinds which were ill-suited for our needs. The material wasn't ""trainable"" such that it learned to fold correctly when retracted. After a year of frustration, we paid $1300 to get little plastic rods inserted in each fold; Leslie was unwilling to reduce the $1300 fee in recognition of the poor / inappropriate original recommendation. The rods still leave little kinks to be manually fixed so, as of today, we're spending $3700 to get entirely new blinds put-in by another provider. Given her poor judgment and lack of business sense in failing to address our dissatisfaction, Leslie deserves a low rating - we would not recommend her at all. Cons: Lacks expertise. Bad business judgment. more
