Grand Rapids Public Museum Middle

I recommend that you visit the Public Museum of Grand Rapids. I only caution you to not waste your money by purchasing a membership. I was told that membersip would cover admission to all special exhibits that come to the museum. I purchased a family membership when I was told the "Bodies" exhibit would be coming and my membership would grant me admission to that exhibit. That was sort of true. I, as a member, could see the exhibit if I paid an additional $45 for my family of five! After contacting the membership office I was told the contract stated there "could" be a charge. It did not matter what I was told when I purchased. The employees at the admissions desk also admitted to me that they sold several memberships telling the patrons it would cover the bodies exhibit. I got no refund for my membership fee but was told I could save $10 on next years membership. Thats a hoot!! Great deal! Anyway. Go see the museum...once. more

I remember when the GR Public Museum was a small crowded building downtown, how times have changed. The GR Public Museum offers unique traveling exhibits, many regular exhibits, and the Chaffee Planetarium. You can even ride on the Carousel overlooking the Grand River. It is a place that school field trips are often taken at, but there is always more to see. I love the museum and what it provides to Grand Rapids. more
