This campground is right on Lake Michigan and within walking distance to Grand Haven downtown. A fun family park where you can spend your evening walking the boardwalk, eating ice cream and watching the boats along the channel. The sunsets on Lake Michigan are beautiful and you often meet some really neat people when camping at Grand Haven State Park! The only downside is the lots are very small and it's basically a parking lot! more

Nice view! 8/16/2005

This is located right on Lake Michigan! I do not recommend tent camping as it's actually all sand.... since it is on a beach. It's a short walk to downtown Grand Haven where there is nice nightlife and shops and places to eat. Reservations recommended for busy weekends as this place fills up very fast! more

Fun Beach 8/13/2005

The water can be cold at times, but overall it is a great place to go in the summer. Kids can play in the sand and in the water. There are no lifeguards, but there are restrooms/locker rooms available and also a snack shack and shop. Admission is reasonable. You can buy a day pass or a season pass. more
