This dentist office's horrible customer service ultimately cost me $20,000. Following insurance snafu, they mailed a bill to a years-outdated address. Months passed, and I was entirely unaware of both the snafu and bill. The worst part was that I came in for next cleaning and they never even mentioned that a prior bill was pending. They then submitted the $100 bill to a collection agency, which sent notification to the same years-outdated address, and no one even informed me. The collection agency damaged my credit rating, just weeks before I secured a new mortgage. This dentist office ultimately bumped my 30-year interest rate up by 0.5 points. When I asked how this happened, the office manager stated that she simply followed all their policies correctly, that she does the same to all patients, and that she has no plans to change her approach.
