Eh, no thanks 7/9/2012

Had an oil change and tire rotation this morning. Good things - oil change and tire rotation in under 2 hrs. Was called on cellphone when car was ready. No upsells or haggling. Bad things - While my car was finished in a reasonable time, the wiper fluid was not filled (as I told it would be by the initial rep who took my keys when I dropped it off). Makes me wonder what else they did not do... Also, inside was fairly oily (driver's side door panel, steering wheel, gear shifter). I wiped down most of the oil with napkins I had in the car, but the steering wheel still feels a bit grimy. Overall, I'm planning on using Wal-Mart from now on. This is the 2nd time I've received similar service at these types of service centers (same thing happened before at a Meineke). Price was no better ($38 total) and service was in fact worse, given that I had to go back and get fluid, them to wipe down to door panel, and there was no apology made, just a bit of rudeness. more

I just visited the Goodyear at 700 Richard Arrington Blvd. to get my slowly leaking tire fixed. This was one of the better car repair experiences I have had. I had no appointment, yet my car was ready in about 45 minutes. The service was cheap, too. Pulling out the damaging screw and plugging the hole only cost $19. They are conveniently located near UAB and several fast food restaurants, so you can drop your car off, eat lunch, and pick it up immediately after your meal. more
