You may think I'm bias because he works there. Perhaps I am a bit, but you also may be wondering why I didn't give it a Perfect rating if he works there. If I was rating his service with Goodyear Auto Center on S Goldenrod Rd., it WOULD be perfect. He does his job and the jobs of three others, and he "slacks" only when there's nothing to do. He works his rear end off for that company, and he knows cars. That being said...
I gave it a 4 start, "Great" rating because of the way the store is run. How they treat their employees. If Corporate Goodyear knew how the service manager treats those under him, they would be angry, I'm sure. But men think differently then women. If I was being treated poorly at a job, I'd go straight to the top... since obviously those in the management position at the store could care less.
They sent my boyfriend off to alignment school a few months back. The store manager at the time decided he didn't want to have to pay my boyfriend for alignments, so he made up some fabricated new rule with Goodyear you have to go to both alignment training & advanced alignment training to get paid extra for alignments. I told him at the time I thought that was a crock of crap, but he just let it roll off his shoulders. Months later, when the new store manager came into play, and the new service manager (who actually cares about the guys who work in the shop) mentioned this, the old store manager who was leaving said that he just didn't want to have to pay my boyfriend extra for alignments. So all the alignments he'd done in the past he didn't make any extra $$ off of because the store manager wanted that money in his pockets. I think something should have been said to corporate, but he didn't want to start a problem, so nothing has ever been said.
Now he gets paid what is due to him for aligments. He has agreed to disagree with the new store manager, mainly because this new guy at least gives him the respect he deserves. My boyfriend doesn't ask for more then he should be given... and I know that when he goes to work, and works hours & hours in the heat of that garage, he gives 110%.
So if you ever stop into the Goodyear on S Goldenrod, tell Bobby you heard about him on Judy's Book. If you request him specifically, you will know your car is in good hands. Oh, and you can tell him Gina sent you. :)
