A woman in the Waterbury Goodwill told me to head out to Torrington. She was right -- they do have a better selection of stuff and are a little less crowded, thought they're a bit smaller. All the CT Goodwills have started marking all of the better clothes as "boutique" items, and sometimes they retail for about as much as they would for the same item on sale at a regular store or at TJ Maxx price. If you get lucky, though, someone will have not been paying attention and will mark something with a lower price. I also don't like the CT Goodwill policy of individually marking books rather than a set price for all -- some are really overpriced. This store has lots of CDs and bric a brac. The surrounding area is fun to explore, too.
