What gives?! David has a great reputation in town - is affable and confident. So - at $250 a pop, you'd expect to be mildly transformed in the two-hour initial session. And, a...

He runs a racket! 2/8/2020

I don't bad mouth people, but this is the fourth time I have heard about this guy taking advantage of stay at home moms who are facing divorce - myself being one of them. He is paid to meet for hours with stay at home moms to "assess their career value" so that attorney's can make an argument that the ex needs to pay more money to support her. While it sounds well intentioned and as though a woman would be a fan of this, Goodenough instills a belief in the woman that she is truly incapable. His tools are antiquated and he charges for ones that can be accessed for free on-line. Three of his clients have said their attorneys told them to go to him and they got nothing out of it but feeling worse about themselves and a big check. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a kick-back program for referrals with the attorneys. He needs to be turned into the Better Business Bureau. more

A Very Worthy Investment 10/27/2015

I was initially skeptical about the fee charged for consultation, but after several meetings, I feel that it was a bargain. Mr. Goodenough transformed not only my job search, but my confidence in myself as well. He provided real-world connections and tools, as well as advice on how to navigate networking meetings and career-related social events. Deciding to consult with The Goodenough Company is one of the best decisions I've ever made. For the record, I do now have a job I love, and I don't think I could have done it without Mr. Goodenough's advice. more

Pretty lame. 8/17/2011

Total rip-off. Nothing insightful, constructive or even motivating topped off with a last minute appointment change that burned up my afternoon. I shouldn't have paid. more

David transformed my professional career. 1/18/2010

Like John R. I've worked with David for many years, whenever I'm considering a new opportunity. When I first worked with him I was professionally stuck, not liking my career but not knowing what to do about it. He helped me understand why I was stuck and had good advice not only about other directions that I might go in, but how to successfully make my career change. I've referred a number of people to him and most have found him extremely helpful. more

A Certain Sort of Genius 10/28/2006

During the 10+ years I have consulted with David, I have rarely made a major decision without consulting him first. During these 10+ years, I've worked successfully at senior levels in a Fortune 50 company, a major university, and multiple professional services firms. I also started my own business, with David's invaluable help. David has never once suggested I had dyslexia, or another learning disability -- nor has he said so to any of the many others I have sent to him. I can understand how Kimberly, and others, could feel the way she does. Like Dr. Milton Erickson and other great counselors through the ages, David grasps with unique power that nothing he says can achieve much if a person is too strained with self-doubt, judgment or other deeply negative feelings. We all are, in fact, nascent geniuses -- and little of significance is achieved without feeling this potential. No one ever had a better booster than David G. Our lives (like Kundera's greatest novels) are complex stories whose beauties surface slowly, over time. David's genius is a joy to behold -- and even more: to experience. I urge you, Kimberly (et al.), to try David again, soon more

The Oracle speaks in Riddles 2/11/2006

What gives?! David has a great reputation in town - is affable and confident. So - at $250 a pop, you'd expect to be mildly transformed in the two-hour initial session. And, admittedly, I was...until I was duped. I heard about two other people, totally unrelated to me and unknown to one another, who received basically the SAME feedback from David during their expensive session! Almost verbatim dammit. I really liked his style and format (one hour to spill your beans and another hour to hear his take on your greasy beans...all recorded onto a handy cassette). BUT, there were just too many similarities between my session and others' to sit well with me. Example: we were all nascent geniuses and suffered (unknowingly, our entire lives) from mild learning disability that thwarted our famed paths in life, namely dyslexia. C'mon! Obviously, we all fell for it. I haven't had the heart to break it to these two other individuals. Now everything he said is cast in doubt. Was he really listening to me? Too many people are being referred to David and he might need to alter his monologue now. It's now time to please raise the curtain on this Wizard of Oz. more
