Rick and Elizabeth are both wonderful people and top-notch in the jewelry business. I went in to "look" at engagement rings having no real idea where to start and before I left, I'd picked out a diamond and Elizabeth had molded up a custom ring idea. It's nice to know that my wife has a one-of-a-kind engagement ring/wedding band set and the craftsmanship is amazing. I had no qualms about picking out my own wedding band there and found an intricate estate piece that seemed to have never been worn. The prices at Goodden Jewellers are no more than you'd spend at a generic jewelry store but here you're supporting good, honest people who obviously have a love for their trade. They were able to fix the band of my great-great grandmother's engagement ring and still preserve the initials inside. I had the ring back within a week, in time for my wedding that weekend. Their prices are very reasonable, and everyone there is incredibly knowledgeable. They also have a beautiful selection of estate jewelry, if you are interested in something unique. I can't say enough good things about the business. (They even offered to stay a little past closing so I could make it in to pick up my ring that day!) more

About a month ago, i had a need for an engagement ring, my minds eye had already had a picture of what i was looking for, i had looked at several jewellers before visiting Goodden's in downtown KC. To my surprise i felt not only welcome, but every one that worked there was personable, i described what i was looking for after browsing the displays. To my delight i was told that they could and would create what i had invisioned. After getting a pretty solid quote (i had never before purchased a "real" piece of jewerly) I went back to all the other store with the intent of beating the price and quality, To my amazement--not one competitor even came close. 2 weeks later i received the finished product--I was truely floored, the Ring was a perfect. When I went into Goodden Jewellers, I had been shopping for an engagement ring for a couple of days. I only had a few days before my girlfriend returned from a trip and I wanted the proposal to be a suprise. Elizabeth and Rick helped me find exactly what I was looking for in a ring this important and I even stayed within my budget. My girlfriend's plane landed the day before the ring was ready, so Elizabeth helped me devise a plan to pick up the ring with my girlfriend along. With the help of some good acting, I was able to pick up the ring and finish up the paperwork while my fiancee-to-be was sidetracked in the art gallery. I went to Goodden to re-size an estate engagement ring after reading all the positive reviews here. The minute I was buzzed in, Elizabeth burst from the back office and greeted me with a familiarity and warmth like she'd known me her whole life. The service I received was knowledgeable, professional and speedy (they finished my ring four days early!), and I felt completely comfortable (I loathe big-box jewelry stores because of the hustling and talking-down-to many of them consider "service"). The store itself is amazing, with wonderful, unique pieces, a fabulous art gallery and--perhaps best of all--Downtown Mr. Brown, the world's only canine jeweler. They have the best jewelry selection I've ever seen. They do custom pieces that are so great, I've gotten tons of complements on my ring and my daughter's ring. They have great prices, nothing like the chain stores with the same stuff every time you turn around. They also have a great room full of art work and fossils. Being locally owned is important to me and Goodden's fits the bill. I like my jewelry to be different, not something everyone else has or that you can see in every flyer like the mall/chain jewelry stores have.
