People Who Feel Entitled To Free Medical Care 5/3/2012

I have been going to the Good Samaritan Medical Clinic for 5 years and have been treated wonderfully. I did not, however, try and get into the clinic before all of the other people who are waiting by throwing around a doctor's name. I am a diabetic and received help immediately. This clinic has over 3,000 patients and I often wonder how that small crew manages to run everything as smoothly as they do. The clinic does have to have proof of income for the HOUSEHOLD but has never needed copies of utility bills. The person who wrote the negative review obviously feel entitled to free care. No one is. Hopefully, the clinic can continue growing and helping everyone in this area and I wish them the best and thank them for everything they have done for me. more

What's good about Good Samaritan Medical Clinic? 10/6/2009

I am unemployed and have no health insurance. I learned about the Good Samaritan Medical Clinic from my parents [my father is a patient of Doctor Sam Stone, who started the clinic apparently]. I have high blood pressure [untreated], and believe I have had high blood pressure since at least 2003, as that was when kidney issues started. My father spoke to Dr. Stone on 8/24, during a doctor visit, regarding me getting into the Good Samaritan Medical Clinic. The clinic requires that a patient have proof of income for Everyone that lives in the house, plus copies of 2 utility bills. My father asked why it was necessary for me to provide his personal info [as I am staying with my parents]. Dr. Stone told him, ""tell him not to worry about that, just go to the clinic."" That Friday, the 28th, I went to the clinic. I was told I would need to be put on a waiting list. I told the women in the office what Dr. Stone had said and they did not seem to care. They took my full name and address, told me I would hear from them in 3-4 weeks, and I left. Now, today is the 6th of October and I have heard nothing from Good Samaritan Medical Clinic. What kind of country do we live in where one can't even be seen by a doctor in a Free Clinic? Pros: None come to mind Cons: Can't be seen by a doctor more
