I closed an antique store in Oregon. After moving to Utah I delivered several loads of valuable and unique merchandise to Good Buy. However, having had received less than $40 total in 3 months I chose to retrieve my merchandise. But, alas, all but 4 items were gone. I suppose I lost thousands of dollars in this sour deal. One Good Buy owner told me I was lucky that he was letting me take one of my paintings because after 3 months everything belonged to him per the contract. He then told me I would have had to of paid money if I’d chosen to store my things in a storage unit rather than bring my merchandise to him. His incongruent remark demonstrated his distorted attempt at justifying his theft. I reminded him that my intent was not to store my items, but if I had stored them at least I would still have them. He appeared puzzled and then quickly began to bully the situation with self-serving arrogance that surpassed almost anything I’d ever seen. Regard my lesson if you are a consignee. It was expensive and someone should benefit from it.
