Will never need another salon! 1/15/2012

I've been going to Emiko for about a year or so now, and I couldn't be happier! She is so knowledgeable about everything she does. I have very curly hair and I have never been able to get the right cut until I went to Goldie Locks, she knows exactly what to do, and it doesn't break the bank either! Great results for great prices. HIGHLY recommend her to all kinds of hair. more

I am 12 years old and I like going to Emiko because I can text her and set up appointments, which is very convenient for me. She always does what I ask when it comes to cutting my hair. Thank you Emiko! more

Emiko is the first person in years to do a good job with my 8 year old's super curly long hair, and she was very patient and handled both the kids (and their haircut anxiety) really well. more

I love getting my hair done with Emiko! I have never been disappointed with my hair and when I don't know what to do with it she gives me great ideas. She is affordable and has great products to purchase. She is so easy to talk to and I feel like I'm chit chatting with a friend I've known a long time. I have been with emiko less than a year but was recommended by friends who have been going to her for years. I will def keep going to her in the future! ;) more

Like a lot of folks with curlier hair, I've gotten more than a few bad haircuts in my time and have learned to be darn selective when it comes to the stylists I trust. Having visited Emiko of Goldie Locks Hair Studio, I can say that I've found my new Seattle stylist. She found the exact style of cut I was looking for, and even had some maintenance tips which were new after all the grief I've gone through to get my hair just so. more

Refreshing change from fancy, overpriced salons 9/13/2011

I was so comfortable in Emiko's home-based salon and she has a wonderful personality. I just met her but felt like I'd known her for years. She kept me from doing something drastic with my hair and I'm very fortunate for that. She gave me suggestions for my type of hair and did a great job!!!! more

Emiko cut my daughters hair and did a faboulous job. It is the best hair cut she has had so far. It is impotant to note that my daughter is 31/2 yrs old and can sit in the chair and follow Emiko's directions. Emiko did a great job of telling my she thought the way she cut my daughters hair would work for her. Along with talking to my daughter and answering my daughters questions. more

Emiko is exactly what we needed! 8/31/2011

Great - Emiko managed to persuade my styling-resistant 12 yo to commit to taming her wild locks by showing her a few simple tricks. She's even asked for some styling products now after seeing how great her hair can look and getting compliments on it! My 10 year old wants an appt with Emiko now, too! more

Educational! Fantastic. 8/13/2011

Emiko definitely knew what she was doing and for that I am extremely grateful. Not only did she give me a fantastic cut, she prepared me for how to work with it after the cut. She went above and beyond what I had expected. She cut my hair and set it out it would normally dry, so I could see that, and then after that showed me a new technique for curls that someone like me (I really don't do hair or get it - I'm a low-ponytail or down-hair kind of girl) could even do. more

My hair is thick and fine and straight! It was down to my shoulders. I felt old and dumpy. I called for an appointment. Emiko asked what I wanted. Turns out she spent time looking into possible hairstyles that would fit my skill and my desires. I walked out with a haircut I LOVE! It helps that I've gotten more compliments on this hairstyle than anything I've ever had before. THANK YOU EMIKO! more

My oldest has shirley temple curls and Emiko did a great job with her curls. She also cut my 19 month old's hair - she wouldn't sit still in the chair and she still got a great cut! My girls will be staying with her! more

Best Haircut Ever! 6/16/2011

I walked in to the Emiko's salon with crazy, curly, frizzy long hair, and left with one of the most adorable short haircuts of my life. She did an excellent job and I would (and will) reccomend her to anyone looking for a great haircut in north Seattle-- especially if you've got curly hair! I think she's the best kept secret in Shoreline. more

Knowledgeable on how to cut thick wavy hair 5/9/2011

My hair is very thick and wavy. It is hard to find a stylist that knows how to cut that type of hair, but Emiko did a wonderful job. It even falls nicely back into place after being out in the wind and that is saying a lot. The salons environment is very relaxing and void of the noise and chemical smells that is the norm at most places that cut hair. I would definitely go back there again. more
