Serving Cantonese and Mandarin cuisine in a low-lit setting amidst Asian artifacts.
Golden Wok is one of those hole-in-the-wall delights of La Grange that you discover from time to time. A few decorative overhead lamps and some simple tablecloths are the extent of the decor, but don't let the simplicity convey the wrong impression. The mural of the Great Wall and the lighting fixtures could be from one of 1,000 Chinese restaurants, but that is where all comparisons end. The Golden Wok has decided to concentrate on preparing excellent Cantonese and Mandarin food, and excellent it is. Something considerably elegant takes place in the kitchen. Golden Wok dishes are of the mild Cantonese variety, but are as good as you'll find anywhere.
