Yeah, Dayton has all kinds of chain restaurants for breakfast, but this locally-owned restaurant can't be beaten. Definitely the best breakfast in Dayton. There is almost always a line out the door on weekends (the best way to tell a great restaurant), but it moves quickly. The reason? A huge pancake menu, wonderful omelets, muffins, good coffee and fabulous home fries. The servers are terrific--friendly and efficient. Most have been at Golden Nugget for years. This restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch. There is another location at the corner of Dorothy Lane and N. Dixie Dr. that was destoyed by fire about a year-and-a-half ago, is almost rebuilt and should be opening soon. Same great food and service. The building looks like a major upgrade from the original. I can't wait!!!
