A neighbor recommended Golden Inn as a great place for lunch buffet in the Lutz/LOL/Wesley Chapel area. It is well hidden in a strip mall right near the new location of The Room Exchange, a furniture consignment store. I tried the food and was pleasantly surprised by both the quality of the food and the warmth of the atmosphere.
The lunch buffet always has eggrolls, egg foo young, white and fried rice, vegetable lo mein, and honey bananas. There are usually four main entree dishes with Bourbon chicken and General Tso's chicken almost always offered. Fish dishes and those with seasonal vegetables like beans or eggplant show up frequently. The food is fresh, hot, and delicately spiced. The Eggdrop and Hot and Sour soups are always fresh and delicious.
Kathy, the owner, will know your name after the second time you visit, and the waiters and waitresses will have your drink by the time you have a seat. The service is informal yet polite and the staff clearly values their returning customers.
I know this sounds like a review from an owner or staff member, but I'm not. I'm a loyal yet discriminating customer who knows an excellent service business when I experience one. Dinner prices are not cheap, but you get every dollar worth of value at Golden Inn.
My commentary on the food poisoning ""review"" - I've eaten there weekly for over two years and we've had many dinners with no problems. If one were offered recourse from an insurance settlement with only a doctor's visit, why not do that and solve the problem? Writing a complaint in the form of a review only hurts your credibility and insults any customer reading it.
