Golden Griddle Pancake House

We used to go there at least once per month for Sunday breakfast. We have many friends who frequent there and loved the place. We were fans of the food and service until a recent disturbing visit. Yesterday we went there for Sunday breakfast. As usual, they were crowded so we had to wait on a table of 4. There was a white family of 4 who came in a few minutes after us and they were told to wait also. There was as table available near the front. The owner seated the white family ahead of us and told us he was preparing a booth for us (which was in the rear near the washroom). My wife asked him why did he seat the people who came in after us first. His reply was ""I pay the bills here and I can seat people when and how I want to."" \r I said what. He repeated it, this time louder saying, I am the owner and I can seat people how I want. When you pay the bills you can seat people how you want. \r We decided to walk out. On our way out he stated to not come back. \r Well, he got his wish.\r more

I have been lots of places for breakfast and must say this is one of my favorites! My grandmother is a long time patron, and asked me to take her one day. It's been under a month and we must have been back five times by now! The food is great, the staff is wonderful, and the owners have always been courteous and friendly to me. A friend and I decided to got breaksfast and she said let's meet at The Golden Griddle and I agreed. We both ordered a Chicken Cheddar Omelet with Broccoli and my daughter had the mickey mouse pancakes. When I bit into the Omelette the chicken was spoiled I immediately spit it out, my firend ask me what was wrong and I told her she cut into hers and a pungent odor came out, we informed the waitress who then asked did we want to order something else, my appetite was about gone after that. She then came back with the bill and stated that she charged us for everything else but took off the Omelette. No apology was given considering the fact that it was chicken and had i swallowed it I could have gotten food poisening as well as my daughter who did ask for a piece. Pros: leaving more

This is a must for breakfast in the south suburbs. The omelets and the pancakes are to die for. Try the mini waffles or silver dollar pancakes with fruit topping. Fantastic!! The service is fast, courteous and the owners/hosts are friendly. Get there early on the weekends, as the place fills up really quick. Good Lunch specials too!
