I had been suffering from episodes of extreme sleepiness during the day and fits of activity while sleeping. I finally decided that I needed to go to a sleep doctor and I am so glad that I picked Dr. Schriner. I have never had to wait for an appointment, and from the first appointment he was concerned about making sure that I got the treatment needed, but not at a steep cost. He was also very concerned about not wanting to put me on a bunch of new medecines since I am so young (25) to be having sleep problems. He explained to me what the possibilities of my problem could be and gave me lots of options on how we could handle it. \r I decided to go with the sleep study, which actually was at a very low cost to me. (his billing woman checked with my insurance beforehand to make sure it wouldn't be an undue financial burden) The study was inconclusive but he has kept workiing with me (as my symptoms have persisted), even when I changed to an insurance his office doesn't accept. He is always available for a follow up appt. and makes sure I call him once a week when we tweak my 1 generic (at his insistence) medication. I have had to wait at 1 of the appointments out of the 3 I've had with him which is wonderful compared to other doctors I have been to. I received a trach in Naples, FL due to sleep apnea and was consequently taken off of CPAP as well as oxegyn without any testing after I got the trach. Thank goodness he wanted to do another sleep test or no one would have known my stats were dropping to 75% and that I do, in fact, need to be on oxygen at night. Yes, they are thorough in the sense they cover material I already know but I have yet to an appointment where I didn't learn something I didn't know that came in useful.\r \r Pros: Thourough Cons: Too far out from where I live in Midtown Memphis. more

I waited an hr. past my appointment, when i got there i have the dr. breaking down the basics of sleep apnea to me ""barney"" style ( you know the purple dino) I know i have sleep apnea, and like any other neurotic woman, ( that was a joke...ok maybe a little bit) I have researched sleep apnea, i know the details, just get me in/out and if i have a question ill ask, he had me falling asleep! ( another joke) He kept insisting i have another sleep study since my last one was 2 1/2 years old, but i felt like he was just trying to get more money out of me because my old dr. ( who does not take my insurance anymore ) told me i didnt need to go have another study , i could go ahead and get the cpap study. Pros: , detailed Cons: long wait, long winded dr., money hungry more
