I enjoyed it 10/22/2008

My experience at the Golden Dragon was for my Prom group's dinner. The owner personally gave us a very wide variety of the foods to enjoy and I liked nearly all of them, though I dodged the seafood as the platter was passed around. This restaurant is a good Chinese restaurant, with a pretty standard menu, very good food and reasonable prices. But what is unique is the friendliness of the staff, especially the woman in charge (owner?). She will come and talk to you, and even hug you -- she treats every customer like they are her family, which I thought was very pleasant. more

Inviting, family style Chinese restaurant 6/27/2008

This is the friendliest Chinese restaurant I've ever been to, and on top of that the food was stellar. The Golden Dragon made me fall in love with Peking duck lettuce wraps, and I still haven't been able to find wraps as flavorful and rich as theirs. Kung Pao shrimp were also a home run, and my favorite part of this restaurant is ordering family style: a lot of dishes to share- so everyone can enjoy the menu. It's less expensive this way too, so all the better! Finally, the atmosphere is authentic and what I look for in a real Chinese restaurant- traditional decorations, wall paper, etc. but not at all over the top. Great restaurant! Fine food with excellent service 1/22/2008

Our family has been eating at the Golden Dragon since 1977. We have had all our celebrations there due to the excellent food and service. The sizziling rice soup is one of our favorites as well as the kung pao shrimp (spicy good) and of course their famous egg rolls. Would recommend this restaurant to every one in fact our son's wedding rehersal dinner will be held there soon. The owner, Kee, frequently greets guests at the door to make them feel welcome. Pros: Food quality and friendly, efficient service Cons: Not large enough street signage more

Great hospitality! Everyone is very nice and the food is excellent. Very fresh. The egg rolls are the best in town and the prices are reasonable. It's easy to get seated, very clean and the service is great. You'll want to come back! Pros: Hospitality, easy to get seated, great food Cons: hard to find more

RIGHT WHEN I WALKED-IN I WAS GREETED WITH A HUG AND KISS AND WALKED TO MY TABLE. I NEVER HAD TO ASK FOR A THING...EVERYTHING WAS BROUGHT TO ME ON A SILVER NO....PLATINUM PLATTER!!! I WOULD RECOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE WHO LOVES GOOD CHINESE FOOD AND GREAT BEYOND GREAT SERVICE!!!!! more

Treated Like Family 8/17/2005

If you like godd Chinese food, but only afford the fast food kind, make the trip to Costa Mesa. This place has reasonable prices on the menu, but a unique "family style" section for Two up to whatever. It serves wontons, egg rolls, a soup, an entree per person and a veggie dish! As well as endless hot tea. All that under $10.00 per person! PROS: Never had a bad Meals, Love the greeting and goodbyes! CONS: more
