Golden Corral has gone overboard. Back in the day, they were like a Bonaza or Pondarosa, but then they added a salad bar, then hot additions to the meal. They were clearly going somewhere. Eventually, you could stand in line, order a pretty good steak & add on an entire food bar of low quality additions to your decent meal.
This got very popular since you could get a very big meal for about $10.
Unfortunatly, they no longer take your order. The only thing you order is the food bar now. They do have cuts of serloin roast steaks cooking on the grill, but these are nowhere as good as the beef they used to have.
The place has declined to a noisy feeding treough where you have to fight for a chicken wing.
Pros: cheap, lots of food, fast
Cons: # of people, low quality, not fresh
