Best Car Audio Installation! 10/19/2011

I just recently had the guys at Gold Star install a Custom Sound System and Radar detection package in my new Audi A4. I was quite nervous letting anyone dismantle my car. when I arrived at Gold Star there was a Ferrari 458 Italia and a Porsche 911 Turbo. not to mention the other old school hot rods. I picked my car up a week later and my ride was transformed. They did tint and my sound system was concert quality.. The morel speakers they installed are so amazing it rivals my home stereo system which it very high end.. I hate to leave my car sometimes.. There is nothing like crusing along with a great sound system on a beautifull day.The installers are top notch and super clean and carefull. they cover all the seats and protect all aspects of the car.I must say my expericence with the crew at Gold Star was a pleasing one.I recommend Gold Star Audio to anyone who wants Quality work at fair prices in Orange County....Cool place,Great people.Amazing workmanship.... more

Where to go to get legit pricing/product 2/10/2010

Wow, this is the first audio shop i have been to in SoCal that hasnt tried to convince me that generic Performance Techniques or Almani or MA audio is ""high quality"" I walked in and saw a full soundboard of Focal, DLS and Morel all on display. Finally i can listen to what i buy. I ended up with a reasonably priced system with a solid install to boot. I have no complaints, and when i blew out a fuse from jammin too hard they even replaced it for free and double checked everything just to make sure! Pros: Great install quality/products/no garbage Cons: None that i can think of more

Quotes can't be given over the phone in installs because even if you know the make model year of car it can have premium sound factory, navigation that has to be taken apart and you will know what you are dealin and the parts and labor very from those . I have installed audio and video for cars for 4 years and have gone to get parts from their shop. I know that they are a business with very little advertisement and are more a ""Word of Mouth"" business making them very good since they are still around. The most ridiculous thing is you expecting a ride from them. You should be old enough and mature enough to deal with those type of problems on your own. Find someone that YOU know and tell them you will drop of your car and if you can get a lift . It also liability reasons so consider your complaints hmmmm. how do you say ? oh yeah dumb =D Pros: Good quality work Cons: none yet more

DO NOT GO TO GOLD STAR AUDIO! 7/16/2009

To sum up my experience with this shop in one word...UNPROFESSIONAL! I called to get a quote for a head unit, sirius, bluetooth, etc. installation. The person who answered the phone couldn't be bothered to answer any questions and seem uninterested. So, I emailed them asking them for a quote on the installation...no response. I then called again and got a quote and set up an appointment. I specifically asked if I could get a ride back to work (approximately 1 1/2 miles from their shop). They said they could do that. When I arrived at the appointment - suddenly they couldn't spare a driver and couldn't drop me off at work. Of course, there was no apology for wasting my time. If you want poor service and a flaky business then go to Gold Star Audio! Cons: UNPROFESSIONAL more

Finally, a professional car stereo installer 3/12/2009

Had speakers installed in our used vehicle by Jay and his technicians. Jay's knowledge of the vehicle and his audience was well above average (and I had course in acoustics). We once had a big-name bay area installer install a speaker with one screw, and only found this on speaker removal, so I was wary of poor workmanship. This installer was very professional and did a competent, neat, job. Am not a pushover customer, but the system Jay recommended sounds great. I don't usually right these recommendations but this time it was earned. Pros: Selection, professionalism, competence Cons: Probably not the cheapest more

Finally a trustworthy high end audio shop with great prices. 1/14/2009

I have been shopping around for a mid-high end audio system for the last 6 months, and every store i visited in Costa Mesa/Garden Grove/Mission Viejo and Huntington, including independent and chain stores seemed like they either didnt care or didnt know their product. I went to Gold Star and spoke with the manager Jay, he seemed really knowledgeable about my car (a 2006 BMW) and he recommended an awesome system using Focal components and audison amplifiers. The prices were way below retail and I thought they would try to make it up in installation charges but again they were super competitive. I trusted them with my car for 2 days and when i came to pick it up it sounded amazing. The install was sound, they even made me a great custom box instead of using a cheapy swap meet box. I havent had any problems, and they even told me that i can bring it in ANYTIME for a free retuning and check up after the speakers break in. Pros: Quick install, attention to detail, quality products used down to the wiring Cons: Not open sundays, guess everyone needs a day off. more

Need a new stereo ..... Gold Star Audio is all you need to know. 3/25/2008

The stereo in my wife's car wasn't playing CD's and she wanted to upgrade to a stereo that she could connect her ipod. I first went to Best Buy and Circuit City and wasn't impressed with the sales people and their attitude. So I searched the internet and found Gold Star Audio and what a difference. I told Jay what I was looking for and the price range. He brought out 3 different stereo's answered all my questions. After my selection his service tech. started right away and within 30 min. the job was done and I was heading home. I am so impressed with Gold Star Audio that I am taking my car in to have a new stereo installed. If you need a new stereo or just want to upgrade Gold Star Audio is the place to go. more

High end Car Audio in Southern California THAT YOU CAN TRUST. 2/18/2008

I was referred to Gold Star Audio by Lamborghini of Orange County. I just got a new 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo, and let's just say, the stock stereo on that car is TERRIBLE. I took my car to Jay (great guy by the way) who is the manager to add a subwoofer, and replace all factory speakers + added aftermarket amps. The wiring was on spot, and I got my car back spotless, honestly, factory feel for the installation. Pros: Knowledgable staff, CLEAN INSTALL BAY, great products, great pricing. Cons: My wife couldn't get me out of the place, made best freinds with the manager Jay! more

Worse experience ever 7/14/2007

I had an appointment at 9:30 AM on Saturday no one was there, I waited 15 minutes then left. Called at 10 AM finally go someone. Went back to the shop in Irvine and was told the radio/nav I wanted was not ordered (I have been waiting over a week to install it). Go some where else... I am... more

GReat Customer Service, install, and prices! 6/3/2007

Went to GoldStar audio after advanced car creations installed me a crappy system and these guys fixed everything. they gave me great prices, didnt try to make me keep buying some extra junk i didnt need, and in the end i was very satisfied with the way my system sounds. Classic car specialist! Great booth @ Belmont car show!!!! 9/15/2006

Gold Star Audio did 4 cars for our car club (Sultans Long Beach) for the Belmont car show where they hosted a booth with Sony Mobile in which they featured 3 of our cars with full mobile systems, my 55 chevy, a 33 ford and a 61 Bonneville. Horrable Horrable Nightmare - Dont take your car there 9/12/2006

I have a 1973 Dodge Challenger. They said they know classic cars! They drilled my dash and put the light in it. Thats like a 1000.00 piece to replace and on top of that after they installed I was driving the car and smoke came from under the dash. I had to have the car towed 80 miles. They said they had to look at it to see if it was their fault. Duh.... now they wont do anything to fix the short they caused. My car is still down. DONT GO THERE more

My brother had his car stereo done by these guys years and years ago and recommended them to me. The staff here is very friendly and knowledgable and helped me pick out a system that I am very very happy with. The prices are very competetive as well.
