This place was gross. I walked into the "lounge" and the first thing i saw was dust, a gross floor the office area was cluttered and no one was there. The largest arena was an oka...

10 stars! 5/12/2011

rating 10 stars: If you could imagine a heaven with horses on top of a hill, this is the place! I have wanted a horse since I was old enough to remember anything. I have only had three lessons, but it has been the experience and dream of a lifetime. The people are wonderful, the horses are MORE wonderful (ha). I would recommend this as the ONLY place in western wa to learn how to ride a horse. more

I love it here and its a great barn 5/9/2011

You know it really makes me mad when people right INCORRECT reviews about a great barn! This barn is the perfect place for beginers and advanced riders compeding in the A circut! The owners are amazing and bend over back words just to help each indevidual student when a problem occours. As for the horses, no horses are perfect but if you want to own your own horse then you have to learn to deal with difficult horses. Even grand pre horses have bad days. And once you advance from the easier horses to the harder ones you will improve tremendusly. If you dont feel comforatble the staff and other students will leave you confident once again. This barn does mostly hunters and jumpers but suports all kinds of disaplines. I have only good things to say about the new and improved gold creek equestrian center. The horse shows are super fun and entertaining and a learning experience to watch. The owners are very understanding and i only have good things to say about them :) even if you are not dead set on going come check it you wont be sorry! I love riding and leasing at gc and have been here for 2 and 1/2 years! btw all of you saying that it is a horrible place and you should run the other way... I HATE YOU!! u r lieing and shouldnt be riding there if you are that concided. i love it here great people great horses and you will not find a barn in this area that has this much room and is this nice of a facility!!! more

I had a good time 5/6/2011

Wow...as a first timer at Gold Creek and first time reviewer I have to say I'm a little shocked at this. I had a nice experience with the barn. Instructor seemed competent, I felt safe on the horse, and I had fun...I read through all of the reviews and see that "Linda" has commented on here very negatively a couple times, but the comments are almost a year apart. I find it hard to believe that someone who hated the barn so much in March of 2010 is still there in January of 2011 - the fact that you're commenting now makes me think you have some weird horse vendetta against this barn...Well I always heard horse people are crazy:) Thanks for proving that I guess (I'm learning every day)... Oh well, bottom line: I had a good time and I'll be heading back for at least one more lesson. more

Beautiful facility with amazing arenas 5/4/2011

I have been riding at Gold Creek for 4 years now and ever since i have been there i have felt at home. They treat every one like family. Gold Creek is a beautiful facility. It has amazing arenas. I dont know many other places that have 3 arenas that size!! The horses are amazing, yes some of them are a bit cranky but if you are really deticated to riding then u will work past that. I have created bonds with almost all of the horses there and once they know you are there for them they open up and follow you around like a puppy dog. I recomend GC for all riders, beginer or advanced. GC offers soo much and does every thing it can to make it the best riding experience ever. and for all of you people saying the horses dont get TLC thats a big piece of BS!!! those horses are sooo loved!!! i know so many people who go up just to care for them and love on them. I have gone so far thanks to gold creek. the trainers there put out soo much of their time for their riders. at every barn people are going to fall off. if you have a horse that doesnt act out then your lucky but riding a horse who may act out is the best lesson ever. it teaches you how to be a strong rider. horses are wild animals, people dont understand that you cant expect it to be perfect because they are wild and will do what they please. But over all gold creek horses put their hearts for you. they are loving caring and beautiful. if you are looking for a place to ride i recomend Gold Creek you will be very pleased with what you find. more

I would highly recommend it! 5/2/2011

Gold Creek has the potential to be a world class stable. It has two indoor and two outdoor rings, a full hunter jump course and jumper jump course (brighter poles), three barns, three wash racks, tons of lockers or large tack rooms should you choose, 24 school horses, all of which are available for lease at any time, five wonderful instructor; educated in all disciplines, an amazing barn crew that go above and beyond their call of duty to make sure your horse is taken care of, and not to mention the owners, Jim and Mary, who are two of the most down to earth, caring, and helpful individuals. Whether you want to learn to ride, lease a horse, board your horse, or come to one of Gold Creeks many schooling shows I would highly recommend it! more

Go somewhere else 4/20/2011

Gold Creek is a lesson farm. They are about the business and making money, which is why their horses are ridding twice a day everyday. There is no turnout offered, and limited if any vet care. They have a very high instructor turn over rate, and any past instructor will tell you many of the horses are not sound, and used anyway in lessons. They are not even given the minimal care they should be. I have seen more falls in lessons at GC than any facility I've ever been to. The horses are worn out, sour, and do not get time in proper turn out where they can run or graze. more

Treated like family 4/7/2011

I had ridden at Gold Creek for 7 wonderful years! Gold Creek brought me many wonderful oportunities from riding in my first show, to buying my first pony, who is wonderful. Jim and Mary have treated me like family from the beginning, let me hang out at the barn with my friends for hours on end , help out with shows, and learn to love and car for horses. I had a wonderful trainer who was so kind and loving she tought me so much and brought me so far. Even tho I do not ride here anymore I do highly recommend it to any body looking for a loving family place to ride!! more

The owners are very nice 2/9/2011

Their boarding services are also wonderful. The members of the staff responsible for care for the horses are EXTREMELY nice and great with all the horses. There are several arena's available for use as well as an adjoining trail system. The owners are very nice and responsive. I am an adult rider, but the children I see who ride here are all very happy, friendly, and love this barn and the horses as much as I do. In the time I have been here I haven't had any problems. And I can't say enough good things about Gold Creek Equestrian. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone beginner, advanced, intermediate. Check it out for yourself and you will find this to be your home away from home as I have! more

I have been riding at this facility for two years 2/3/2011

I have been riding at this facility for two years. And can't say enough good things about my experiences here. I have a wonderful trainer who has been at this barn for at least a decade. She is completely amazing. Knowledgeable, experienced, patient, encouraging, etc. And have found the other trainers there to be great as well! The school horses available for use during lessons or leasing are wonderful. They are tame, reliable, and well trained. The leasing program is a great and affordable way to build a relationship with a horse you come to know and love without all the expense of owning one. I am in love with the horse I lease and all the other horses at this barn as well. more
