Gold Country Reporting is owned and operated by Debra Coker. Debra became a court reporter in 1990 after spending the previous two years in court reporting school in Sacramento. She spent her first 14 years freelancing for deposition firms in Placer, Nevada and Sacramento Counties as well as a stint as an official reporter for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Sacramento.In May of 2004 Debra became business partners with Tricia Kelly formerly of TK Reporting and started Gold Country Reporting, keeping TKs downtown Grass Valley location and then opening a second office in Auburn, California. In 2008 Debra became sole owner when Tricia retired from court reportingIn January of 2011 Debra bought the business of Alpine Reporting, a long-time Nevada City firm, when Yvonne Hargrove also decided to retire. With the purchase of Alpine, GCR is now publishing the Nevada County Legal Directory.In May of 2012 Debra once again expanded her business by merging with Sterling and Associates when Tobie Sterling also decided to retire. This business decision involved moving Gold Country Reportings Auburn office from their original Lincoln Way location a half mile away to Sterling's 101 Orange Street address. The new address is just a short block from downtown Auburn and very easily accessible.Debra is a working reporter/owner who operates Gold Country Reporting with the help of an excellent office staff along with a number of other seasoned court reporters, all of whom have many years of experience reporting depositions, hearings, arbitrations and trials.
