New name: JIN GO.... Superb Food, Excellent Service, Low Prices, Great Hip Ambience! 5/27/2008

This place is fantastic! After reading the reviews, I called for a reservation. The restaurant's name has been changed to ""Jin Go"". Still at the same spot. I was impressed with the decor and the ambience here. Prices are low low low for the quality of food you get. Excellent, friendly service - waitresses check on you regularly... and always with a smile - no attitude! Get the skirt steak - no need to go for the premium ($10) cut skirt steak - the 'regular' ($6) is perfect - it's moist, tender, juicy, and delicious with either the miso marinade or the 'salt' marinade. We were brave and also tried the tongue with green onions - good but not better than the skirt steak. You can also ask for the chicken with the miso marinade. The vegetables are also great grilled. Everything was wonderful... and the apple martini (made with a sake-type liquor) was super-smooth - the absolute best! My new favorite restaurant. For a party of 6 people, drinks (beer, martinis) and several rounds of meat, we spent a mere $100! Fabulous. Doesn't get crazy-packed either on Friday or Saturday. I've been here 3 times now and next time will have a seat at the counter to try their shabu shabu. You must try it! Pros: Food food food, ambience, service is unmatched - the best best best service! Cons: None - Make your Friday night dinner plans now and go to JINGO (formerly GOCHI) more

what i've been searching for! 8/4/2006

i absolutely love grill-at-your-table-spots, and this one by far is the best i've visited. i curiously stepped in last night when i saw the words ""charcoal dining"". the prices are reasonable and appropriate, and you receive a great amount of food. not so much where it's overwhelming, but definitely enough to feel satisfied and happy about where your money went. i had the complete chicken dinner, which included 7 oz of fresh chicken breast, green salad with baby greens and a wonderful mustardseed vinagarette, miso soup, generous bowl of rice, choice of spicy tuna or california roll, (the spicy tuna roll was awesome), and spicy bean sprouts (which they gladly will give you more if you ask). everything was very fresh and didn't take long to come to the table. service was very friendly and attentive. what i like about this place is that it's not overcrowded and too busy. the meal can be enjoyed with a group of friends on one of the longer benches outside in their beautiful, bamboo decorated patio setting, or as an intimate dinner inside on one of the smaller tables. they have an extensive menu where you can order combo dishes, or different individual plates of meat, seafood, poultry or veggies a la carte. what i love is that this place is in the valley right up the street from where i live, and i don't have to travel all the way to downtown to get some good japanese/korean bbq! it's also open until 1130/12! everyone who loves charcoal dining and a wonderful combination of japanese and korean food has got to try this place! you'll love it! Pros: fresh and tasty ingredients, friendly and efficient service, cute setting Cons: desserts could be a little better, but they have smores so it works! more

Great Place 6/25/2005

Korean BBQ restaurants are great but they can be rather noisey This place is quiet, hip, and clean. Very good srevice and clean interior. Food is just amazing. Very fresh. Just give it a shot and see it for yourself. Pros: Food, Service more

You have to try it! 12/29/2004

We love eating out and this place rocks! We have lived in both NY and Boston and this is by far the best Japanese bbq/shabu shabu place that we have ever had. The restaurant is 3 months old and it has a very nice decor. We thought that the sliced Premium Kobe Rib Eye and Premium Kalbi bbq dishes were excellent! The beef is fresh and tender that you'll only have to cook it for a bit and it'll melt in your mouth. Great prices and service. And it closes at 12am! Where else are you going to find a place like this in the Valley? You have to try this place! Pros: Food, Service, Hours more
