Their fish and chips specials are great, as is their ""fisherman's sandwich"" which is just a fried Haddocks sandwich with tomato and lettuce, but the fish was so flavorful and just melted in your mouth. more

The lobster is excellent 5/30/2012

The lobster is excellent, in every form, but so is everything else. Nice range of beers and wines, too. more

The desserts looked wonderful 5/23/2012

Ask for Eddie to be your server. He remembered our drinks from three nights (there were 4 of us with 3 different orders) previously and was great both times. The food was great and you get more than enough. The desserts looked wonderful, unfortunately we didn't leave enough room. Would go back again if we are staying near by. more

great place to eat and enjoy your surroundings 5/17/2012

This place has been around for years, and I don't see it changing or leaving anytime soon. It is awesome and a great place to eat and enjoy your surroundings. more

Right on the water 5/8/2012

They get their lobsters delivered right on the dock of the restaurant, seeing as it is right on the water. It's nice to sit there and watch the fishing boats come in and unload their catch at the processing plants to the right. On our last visit we saw Harbor Seals poking their heads out. It was quite funny seeing half the restaurant get up in one collective movement, drop their forks and knives, and come over to the windows and peer out the windows. Luckily we had window seats! more

Very welcoming inside 5/4/2012

It is very welcoming inside, very warm in the winter months with a working fireplace, and reminds you of your surroundings and what Gloucester is. It's called The Gloucester House for a reason folks, and it is filled with local things, and a local feel. And I have seen many locals go here, and talked to many locals that have gone here, and they love it more

Freakin' good 4/24/2012

I don't think they have invented a word for how good the cornbread is. I would go here just for their cornbread, it is the best ever. so moist, not dry at all, like a lot of cornbread is, which makes u wanna cough. it is so freakin' good, and on our last visit, they put fresh blueberries in it, which only added. I suggest asking for a couple more pieces after you devour the 2 you get to start. more

I highly recommend it 4/18/2012

I am a avid traveler, have been up and down the New England Coast, from Acadia Park, Cape Cod, Rhode Island, been to all type of seafood shacks, restaurants with amazing views, and good and bad food. This is one of the best. I highly recommend it. more
