my sump pump wasn't working so I called glenrose to come check it out for me. technician unplugged the pump and float from the outlet, and plugged the pump back in to cycle it. turns out the float was stuck and this released it.
the technician and I then flushed the toilet and ran the bathtub for 4 or 5 minutes to make sure the float would kick the pump back on. Total job too less than 10 minutes, and requried nothing more than unplugging and plugging in the pump and running some water. Total cost? over $154.
it honestly took almot as much time to fix the problem as it did for him to write up the bill. i was told since there was diagnostic work done, the $140 + tax was their minimum service fee. (funny they didn't mention that on the phone when I first called them!!)
as the other poster wrote, find a plumber that charges by the hour. don't use glenrose plumbing.
Pros: courteous
Cons: WAY overpriced
