Jim Glass and his folks at Glass Cars are the best VW repair guys around. I took my 08 Beetle in for a new headlight. Usual cost at the dealer is $200, Jim charged me $51. After taking my car to Service King for an estimate due to a fender bender (literally), I googled "body shops dallas" and found Glass Cars. Since I live in the neighborhood I decided to swing by for an estimate. They came in much lower than Service King, and I felt as if I was getting personal service from them vs. the cattle call method of Service King. Glass Cars fix my clutch for me after a valet parker burned it out. The owner Jim was incredibly helpful in both getting my truck fixed and handling someone else's insurance company. He also fixed it for less than originally quoted, which was already was less than the dealership. He was also very helpful even after the repair was done. The repair work was excellent. I highly reccomend them. My life is easier since we found Glass Cars 7 years ago! I never have to worry or even think about auto repair. For our 4 cars--different models, makes, years,conditions--we know that Jim Hanks will recommend, and do, only what is necessary and prudent. Repairs have been great, and body work looks like new. He always calls with any estimates, changes or updates. No pressure to be first in line at the dealership on Monday morning; I know that my car will be next in line whenever I take it in, and the work will be finished as soon as possible. I recently took my 1973 MGB to Glass Auto after experiencing problems with my clutch. Needless to say, the clutch was blown and I was stuck without a car for at least a week. The owner of Glass Auto gave me a ride home and offered to contact a rental car company for me. What made my experiece so rewarding was not the repair itsself, but the service during and after the service was complete. For example, I was called with an estimate to repair my car in 24 hours and the shop went to work on the car the next day. In addition, I was dealt with honestly and fairly by the owner and the staff was very friendly and happy to help me. I have since sent several co-workers and friends to Glass Auto and same type of treatment was given - nothing less than first rate each and everytime. My experience led me to joke with my co-workers and friends that I have found the last honest mechanic in Dallas and plan to spread the word. It should be noted that I also plan to buy a second-hand car from the owner and restore it. I took my Mustang in for repairs after I rammed it into a pole and was very pleased with the service I received from Glass Cars. The final price was more than the estimate but this was excusable seeing as the damage was not detectable until the car was pulled apart. Their prices are very similar to other places I went to which were located in the middle of nowhere which leads me to believe they are quite honest with their estimates. The only issue I had is that they took 2 days longer than expected but the quality of the work is excellent, my car now looks better than it did before the accident!! I drive an Acura TSX, and for the second time, pulled too close to a curb and got my front bumper stuck. When I put it in reverse, the bumper pulled almost completely off. The last time this happened, I took it to the dealership, where they told me that, of course, I would need a new bumper, blah blah blah. You can imagine. All in all, that ended up costing around $700. So this time, I decided that a local auto body repair might be able to do it for a few hundred less -- maybe. I found Glass Cars by chance, as it is close to my house and it came up on City Search. I called and was told to bring it in. To make a long story short, I had my car fixed, later that same day (and not just fixed, looking great!), for within the price range I was quoted. Which was $30.
