Giovanni's Goleta

This place was pretty good for what the prices were. If you want to get a good slice of pizza for a cheap price than this is a place to check out. I does take awhile for the food to arrive but when you can always order a beer or have some kind of drink while youre waiting which isnt that expensive either. Defintely a place to check out at least once whenever you're visiting the area. more

Well the Giovanni's in Goleta, or "Gio's" as it is known is a nice little place to come with friends. I wouldn't have a business meet here, a little to informal. The food is decent, sometimes it does take a long time for them to bring out your order and they have been known to "forget" or lose orders. If your looking for a younger crowd there is another Gio's in Isla Vista which draws a big college crowd, especially on Thursday nights when there is live music. Overall though a good quick stop for lunch. more

Today I was bored after work so I decided to call up my homies and see what they were up to. They live in Isla Vista and I cruised over their house without calling only to find that they weren't there. Since the front window was open, I contemplated taking the screen off and breaking in. I decided not to be an ass and called them only to find out that they were at Giovanni's Pizza on Calle Real, not the Isla Vista location. So I asked them why they had to go all the way over there. Their responses were dumbfounded and I decline to even talk about that further. By the time I got to Gio's, they already finished their salads. I ordered a calzone with chicken, a salad with ranch dressing, and a mug full of Newcastle from the tap. They got their calzones in a respectable amount of time. I noticed two customers come in about 5-10 minutes after me, one with a pizza, and the other one ordering two calzones. They all got their food faster than me. So, If you're hungry, and want to eat soon, don't get a calzone with chicken. more
