Editorial review from Citysearch 10/3/2013

Absolutely terrible customer service. I brought him a suit to have tailored, because he was supposed to be the best in town. He measured me up, sent me on my way, and said he would call the following week when it was ready. He never called. A week and a half later I called and he said it had been ready for awhile....\r \r I arrive to pick it up and try it on. The waist was far too big, and he had to take in another 2 inches. He said he couldn't have that done for a few days. \r \r I return again to pick up my (hopefully) finished suit. Try it on again and the pants are too long, and he gets very upset. He tells me I'm wasting his time with this ""cheap $400 suit I brought him"" and he wants to be done with me. I calmly explain that I would rather not have come 3 times myself and simply would like the tailoring done correctly. He continues to fume while remeasuring the pants and barks at me that he will do it now so we can be finished.\r \r I have been to many tailors and they all ask for feedback while deciding on how much to take in a jacket, how long you'd like the pants, etc. Giovanni, in his infinite pretentiousness asked for no feedback and tailored the suit as he wanted. Why would I give direction to a master tailor? It has to come out perfect, as this is his craft. Simply put, he left the pants too long and waste too large, but was furious that I inconvenienced him, by asking him to finish the job I paid almost $100 for.\r \r The suit was a $1,400 Hugo Boss suit, that he was so quick to look down his nose at. \r Deplorable. I'm sure he can make you an amazing $4-10k suit, but I hope you'll consider who you're spending that type of money with, before you do. more

Best suits at best prices 7/19/2006

Giovanni Carrelli, the owner, is a man who knows Italian suits. Canali and Brioni are his mainstays. Admittedly these suits are expensive. But his prices beat those of Saks and other stores which carry these high end products. For example for Canali, his prices will be in the $1300 range while Saks and others will be in the $1400 range. More importantly, Giovanni is a tailor who knows his products and who will make sure that they are tailored to make you look your best. He also knows how to match suits with shirts and ties that will look good for each unique individual customer. Unlike the department stores which get their things from a centralized buying program, Giovani deals directly with the manufacturers. Most of us are not going to own a lot of Canali suits. However, if you want a suit that will make you feel like a millionaire, then this is clearly the place to go. His service and knowledge are not matched elsewhere. He does a sale once a year and it shouldn't be missed if you want a fabulous, albeit pricy, suit. His regular prices on Canali shirts were cheaper than the Saks sales price. His selection of ties is the best I have seen in the Cleveland area. Pros: Unmathed quality and service Cons: Canali and Brioni are expensive more
