Good pizza in Downers Grove 4/24/2006

This local pizza chain is a reliable place to find traditional Chicago-style pizza. Although I enjoy Chicago's and Bacino's better, the many convenient locations of this restaurant make is a good option for those in the suburbs. My wife and I have eaten here on several occasions and have had mostly good service. The crowd is mostly locals and those walking around the quaint downtown retail area. The only option for parking is pretty much parallel parking, so keep your eyes open when driving down Main Street for open spaces. more

Slow service but good pizza 1/27/2006

The Downers Grove Giordano's is quite convenient if you're puttering around Main Street around dinner time. However, plan on an extended visit, as the wait staff is SLOW in comparison to other area Giordano's. I'd suggest figuring out what you want before you arrive to help speed up the process. The pizza is excellent, as most Giordano's are. However, when excellent food is combined with mediocre service, it's hard to call it a perfect experience. The decor is quaint, and the black and white photographs on the walls give you something to look at while waiting for the food. more

Mmmm...Pizza 10/22/2005

This quaint little pizza place in downtown Downers Grove is probably known best for their Deep Dish. My favorite is spinach deep dish with pepperoni. The people there are nice. It's private, but in a great location in Downtown Downers Grove so if you're there for the annual Classic Car Show, or for any reason, then it's a great place to stop. The only thing is that Giordano's is a bit pricier than other pizza - but it's a great treat once in a while!! more
