I love this place and you will to. I eat here weekly and I try to get something new each time but I fall back on the combo which is the best deal in town. If they have the tomato ...

I ordered the Veal Parmesan which came with a side of spaghetti. It was OK, but certainly not the best I ever had. The total cost of the meal (with tip) including a soft drink a...

Best Italian food and service anywhere! 6/29/2007

Gino's it THE BEST restaurant in the Round Rock/Austin area. As proof of that, we practically go on a weekly basis. If you are looking for great Italian and great service, then this is the place. It's perfect for first dates and even families. They also do a fantastic job for parties and receptions (We had our post-destination wedding reception for about 50 people there in January 2007). The Baked Ziti a la Gino is fantastic, and if you want a healthier alternative, order the Chicken Cacciatore with sauteed veggies instead of the side of pasta. They are very accomodating. The thin-crust speciality pizzas are excellent, too. The wine selection is good, and they even offer half-carafes/carafes of a nice house burgundy. On the weekends, they offer ""daily specials"" not typically on the menu, and they are always superb, whether it be a gnocchi, fish or pasta dish. Go go to Gino's! You will not be disappointed. Pros: Great Service, Excellent Food, Nice Ambience more

REAL Long Island Italian Family Food 10/9/2006

I felt like I was back in the arms of my Sicilian in-laws! This is the place to go for authentic Italian food. It is warm and cozy and the food is to die for! It it not for food snobs and chi chi types. This is down home comfort food Italiano style. It all fantastic and I am thrilled they are now selling their dipping oil. Pros: Italian Comfort Food Cons: None. more

Best Canneloni I've ever had! 8/16/2006

We've been to Gino's many times and the food is always outstanding. I've never had the pizza, but all of the versions of spaghetti, canneloni, and other pasta dishes are really, really good. This place is family owned and operated and we've always had very good, friendly service. Pros: Good food at very reasonable prices in a nice atmosphere more

Terrible 7/13/2006

Pizza was beyond bad - first, the crust was chewy, second, CANNED MUSHROOMS - enough said. I am completely confused by recent reviews that stated best Italian in Austin - The salad was out of a bag. The only bright spot was the staff is very friendly. Pros: Staff Cons: Food more

Excellent service, great atmosphere and delicious meal! 6/29/2006

We just went to Gino's recently and we were impressed right when we walked into the restaurant - it was very romantic for the two of us! We ordered the Gino's special pizza and it was very delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and accomodated us very well. We're definitely coming back to this restaurant again! Pros: Excellent food and service...try the Tiramasu Cons: They close too early and on Sundays more

My husband and I were looking for a nice quiet dinner out and Gino's was superb. We had a wonderful meal with excellent service. It was a nice change of pace from all the chain restaurants. We look forward to visiting them again soon. more

A great place... 2/6/2006

We found Gino's on Saturday. It is a small place, but boy do they have great food! Their bread is good served with an awesome garlic dipping sauce. We split the plate with lasagna, manacotti, & chicken parmesan. Plenty of food for two and great! I wanted to go back the next day... Pros: great food, great prices more

Best Italian Restaurant 1/18/2006

My brother and I have found the best Italian Restaurant in town it is a nice Family type restaurant with the best food in town. We both enjoy Italian food, Gino has a very good food selection and some of the best pizza we have ever eaten we have just moved to the area and and have already been in 4 times and this will be our restaurant of choice when we want to go out for Italian Food. All of the employees are very friendly and do everything to make the customer fell special. Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly more

Not so great 12/26/2005

I was really looking forward to Gino's after reading the reviews, but I was disappointed. I had the pizza and was wondering is it takeout or DiGorno? I also went with the beef manicotti which was decent. I was not excited about the iceberg lettuce salad loaded with dressing and people raved about the bread, which was just plain white bread sliced with a oil and garlic dipping sauce. I had hoped for more!! Our waitress was very good, friendly and brought extra drinks before we asked. more

Best Italian I've had in Austin! 11/2/2005

Austin is not known for Italian food, which is clear why Olive Garden is so well liked. Well, I discovered Gino's and DAMN!!!! What a great place to eat!!!! Gina, the owner, is SWEET and the food is incredible. Definitely the best Italian food I've had since I left Boston too, and by FAR the best in Austin. more

Mediocre - And I'm Suprised! 10/27/2005

After all of the amazing reviews on this site for Gino's, I made it a point to go there. Didn't try the pizza but my calzone was decent (mall-quality) and my boyfriend's lasagna was ok. Nothing spectacular except how long the food took. We sat there for 45 minutes waiting for our food. I think the chef was making food for his employees instead of making ours because all of their food came out first. Very dissapointed! Pros: close to work Cons: food is only decent more

Gino's Pizzeria 8/11/2004

Chicken Seranto and Trout with pesto, tomatoes and capers (name?). Anyway, food was fantastic, boucoup portions, served with a smile and courtesy. Small wine list, but good inexpensive chianti. Save room for the cheesecakes. So it's in a strip mall. The place was clean, lit just right, just noisy enough not to be boring. Very big menu for such a small restaurant. Service was precisely right, not snobby, friendly enough to make you want to come back. Visited on a Wednesday night. Was busy but not over crowded. We were seated immediately, and felt comfortable throughout. Pros: food, wine, olive oil more

No mora tha average 12/11/2003

The Great Gino""s 7/30/2003

I eat at Gino's weekly. The family owned business has become an extended family to me. I love their pizza of course, but if you haven't tried any of their pasta dishes, You are MISSING out!! This is truly one of the rare small mom and pop's still around. Gina and Teresa, family owners always have a smile on their face and the most awesome service around. Treat yourself to a great meal!! Five Stars all the way. DD Pros: Great Food, 5 Star Service, Inexpensive more

Greatest Pizza 6/29/2003

We've only ordered carryout, but this is the best pizza around. I was addicted after one bite! It truly melts in your mouth. YUM more

REAL Italian Food 5/21/2003

Best Italian FOOD in Austin, by far! Home made bread and olive oil/garlic dip (as much as you want), salad dressing, pastas and sauces. Kid friendly, a real place for real people This restaurant is as good as any in Boston's North End (my home town). The meat sauce is to die for! Try the beef cannoli It's a delicious, meat filled pasta roll, cooked to order, covered in cheese, floating in sea of scrumptious meat sauce. Great take out service, for you or a party to 10! This restaurant is a winning combo; world class food, bargain prices; old world family recipes and friendly service that will keep you coming back, again and again. Pros: food quality, food quality, food quality Cons: located in Round Rock, not open on Sun more
