Attentive Therapists! 1/13/2008

I visited Ginger Springs Day Spa in late December on a rainy day. The massage and facial I received were very well-done, with the therapists being very attentive, asking me what I wanted and checking in with me to ensure I was fine. Point Richmond is quaint, 2 hour parking only on the fronting street, but can park on side streets for longer. Give it a try, I certainly enjoyed it! more

Something for every budget and time frame 12/25/2007

This is a great convienient place. They have an offering that works for any budget or time allowance that you have to invest in a spa treatment as well as some good packages that combine many things. This spa is nearby my home and I love it. I'm really sorry to hear of the unpleasant experience that the first person had with her postnatal massage. I had several pernatal and one post natal massage there and I found them all very good as well as I've continued to be a customer for regular massages and facials. I have always had an easy time getting an appointment that works with my schedule and on any day of the week. I just wish that the location was a little bit bigger but otherwise it's a great get away for the working mom when I find the time whether it's 30 min or 2 hours.... more

worst massage ever 10/29/2007

Went to this spa because it was close by, looked cute & offered lots of other services I thought I'd use in the future but I won't be going back. I desperately needed a post-natal massage and the website said they offered it so I assumed they were experienced at this type of massage. Well, I was wrong. Not only did the massage not address the areas I needed worked on, but the girl who gave me the massage talked the ENTIRE time, and not about me, asking me questions or anything, but about herself and the friends she hangs out with and what they do. Some of it was pretty inappropriate too, not to mention I really didn't care about what she was talking about since frankly I was there to relax. I would have said something but I didn't want to be rude even though she was really the rude one. I kept thinking that soon she will stop talking but no, she talked the entire hour. Non stop. I really didn't even have a chance to say anything. Any one who has just had a baby knows that the one thing they really need is peace and quiet & a nice massage is really a bonus. To make matters worse, when it was finally over, the same girl who gave the massage was the one who rung me up and when I gave her a $100 bill for a $65 massage she had the nerve to ask me if I needed change, as if she assumed I was gonna leave her a $35 tip. Are you kidding me?? To top it all off, just as I was about to leave I thought I should use the restroom and when I asked where it was, she said she didn't think it was still open, but when I gave her a confused look she handed me a key and said that if it's not open I could unlock it. This girl might be skilled at massage, but needs to learn the art of tact. I won't be going back and you shouldn't either. Spend your money somewhere else. more

Loved it!! 7/25/2007

After a horrible full face waxing incident, I called Susan at the Springs so can could help fix my breakout. She did a high frequency and enzyme peel. Two weeks later my skin is flawless. Thanks Susan. Small an cute place, can't wait to go again. They also have product that really clear up your skin. I would definatley recommend this place. I live in El Cerrito, not far at all. It in a nice part of town as well. Pros: it's great more

All of my expectations were exceeded! 6/1/2007

I was hesitant to go to a different day spa after relocating to the East Bay from San Francisco, but I just wasn?t up to traveling across that bridge for a facial because of traffic, gas, and most of all?parking. However, I was suddenly compelled to get a facial quick when I felt a breakout coming on. So, I desperately tried to find a day spa nearby that would take me on short notice in the evening. Luckily, Ginger Springs was able to do so and I am so glad that they did! First, please note that it is located in "POINT" Richmond, which is a cute neighborhood with a small town appeal, (not at all what I had preconceived). Getting there was easy, and parking in the early evening was not a problem. The spa itself is small but cozy and clean. And I had the pleasure of having Susan, the owner, give me a skin analysis and facial. She was very thorough, knowledgeable, and really seems to enjoy what she does. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable. I?ll definitely be back there for more treatments. Pros: parking, service, staff, clean, evening hours, prices Cons: small more

Good local massage 2/11/2007

This place is a lot smaller than I had anticipated, but it was clean. It is located in downtown Point Richmond, and has about 4 small rooms. There isn't a relaxation area that I saw from the description on the website (you should also call to confirm prices, also - as the prices posted on their website are actually a bit higher). This is anice place to drop in at the last minute to get a massage. The price can't be beat, but I can't imagine travelling more than a city or two away to get here. The people are friendly. Pros: Massage, Easy Street Parking, Prices Cons: Small, No Relaxation Area more
