Best Salon in Town 9/13/2011

I've been a customer at Gina's for about 20 years and have always been thrilled with the results. I've gone from short and funky to long and silky and everything in between, and the stylists at Gina's have always gotten it right. more

Best place for a haircut in town 6/21/2011

I've been going to Gina's since I was a little kid. I'm 27 now so that's saying something. more

LOVE it! 9/8/2009

I've been going to Susie at Gina's for several years now. She is SO fun and outgoing! Plus, as a hairstylist, she's simply amazing. She's very thorough and pays attention to detail. Before going to Gina's, I bounced around from place to place (even tried the big, expensive chain salons) and couldn't find anyone who could do *exactly* what I wanted. They would come close, but... I was never really satisfied. Plus, the atmosphere in Gina's is so laid-back and cool, I immediately felt comfortable and not intimidated. Since coming to Gina's, I've been able to try a few fun new hairstyles with the confidence of knowing I always come out looking GREAT! :) Pros: fun. love that it's not a chain salon. more

Great Place 7/23/2009

I've been going to Gina's for quite a few months now, and I absolutely love it. The music is great, the staff are always friendly, and it's never too pricey. I'm very particular about my hair and every time I've gone in I've gotten exactly what I wanted. I would recommend this salon to anyone. Pros: great service, always on time, execelent atmosphere Cons: a little cramped but nothing close to unbearable more

First and last time that I visit Gina's 3/4/2009

I needed a last minute haircut a few weeks ago for a job interview and Gina's was around the corner from me so I decided to give them a shot since my regular barber was not available. Needless to say I regret going there. The place was dirty and the staff was just unprofessional. One talked so loud I couldn't even hear myself think and the staff was talking about things that I didn't think was appropriate to discuss in front of customers. Gina (aka Butterface) was the person cutting my hair and I don't know if she wasn't just not paying attention but she screwed up my haircut. I had to go to my interview looking like a idiot and then finally go to my regular barber to get it fixed, My regular barber said much could be done and that I had to get it cut short and then let if grow back for it to look right. more

Great haircuts, fun place 2/18/2009

If you live or work in the Tri-Village area, consider Gina's for your next haircut. Their great people give excellent haircuts, plus there is an entertaining Rolling Stones Memorabilia collection and good music in the background. It's definitely not my grandfather's barbershop ? still, he'd get a great shave and haircut. Pros: Quality cuts, fun environment, great price ? and nice people Cons: None ? they are great with all ages more

In response to ms. single mama's comment. 1/26/2009

Children are very welcome to come to our salon whether it be for a service, or to hang out with mom and dad while they're getting a haircut. But when a child's behavior becomes a big issue and is interfering with the clients and the stylists...it's time to take care of the problem. I asked ms. single mama to please settle down her son and I was told she would try. But the situation just got worse and worse...and the mother just sat there and did nothing to stop her son from repeatedly screaming, throwing things on the floor, and rolling around in the hair by her feet with no shoes or socks on. more

In Response to Previous Review by Single Mom 1/26/2009

I just wanted to write in response to the single mom's post. I am the receptionist at Gina's. Children, of course, are more than welcome in our salon. We love and appreciate kids. Her child was not well behaved. Once the haircut started, her child was rolling all over the floor in our only walk way to get to the back of the salon. Gina then politely said something to the mother because she was concerned for him rolling around with no shoes or socks on where there was a bunch of hair. That didn't help. He dumped a full box of crayons on the floor (again in our only walkway) right behind the mother. She did not ask him to pick them up and just left them sit. Another stylist and I had to pick up the crayons at least 6 different times during the cut. Our salon is very small and the stylists around her had to constantly entertain her child or work around him in some way while cutting. We were very busy this particular Saturday and it was extremely hard on the stylists and myself to have to pick up after this child while the mother watched and did nothing. We were not frustrated with him, we were frustrated with the mother for failing to correct or acknowledge his behavior and putting it on the staff to entertain and pick up after him. more

Children in salon 1/26/2009

I am a stylist at Gina's and I would like to comment on the previous review...I was in the salon on Saturday while the 2 and a half year old child was running around like a maniac. He was spinning chairs, lying on our mats while we tried to cut hair around him, dumping his box of crayons all over the floor repeatedly as soon as OUR RECEPTIONIST was done picking them up, and was hitting Gina in the leg throughout the entire confrontation with his mother. We do allow children in the salon, but its the parents responsibility to decide whether they have a child who can handle sitting in a chair while the parent gets their hair cut. This is an unfortunate situation all around, but after enduring an hour of this child running and shouting through the shop, I think Gina did her best to be as tactful as possible when requesting that the child not return unsupervised. more

Horrible, Incredibly Rude Salon Owner. 1/24/2009

I have been going to Gina's for four years. I am now a single mother and needed to take my 2 and a half year old son because I could not find a sitter. I asked when I made my appointment and the staff said that would be no problem at all. more

If you want a great haircut or color 11/19/2007

This is a wonderful, laid-back salon. My hair always looks great and I get lots of compliments on it, even though I don't like to spend any time on it. I've been going for 2 years now and they are always on time or close to it, very friendly and professional. Even when my regular stylist was unavailble, her replacement still gave me a fabulous cut! It's small so you don't feel like a cow being herded into a stall like some of the bigger salons, and they don't try to sell you products (of course they will give you good advice if you do want a particular product). The only drawback, for me, is all the Rolling Stones memoribilia because I'm not a RS fan. Sorry, Gina! more

The Best - no need to try the rest!!! 10/1/2006

I have been going to Gina's for over 5 years now and love every minute of it!!! Haircut is always great, atmosphere is wonderful (good music, friendly, entertaining, upbeat, clean, etc.), and as others have said, the stylists are all awesome! Gina (the owner) personally cuts my hair as she specializes in men's cuts. It is like going to a Barber Shop except for one thing, it's fun!!! Pros: Everything!!! Cons: None! more

Great Place to Go for Hair 9/28/2006

Gina's is a great place to go and get your hair done. The hair cuts and colors I have seen and had done myself have looked great. All of the girls are very nice, upbeat and friendly. It's nice to walk into a place like Gina's where everyone is attentive and professional. Gina herself is enthusiastic, has a vibrant personality and always seems to take a special interest in her clients. Plus, I still love the Rolling Stones and there is a lot of Rolling Stones material in the store. more

GINA'S ROCKS MY SOCKS OFF! 9/27/2006

I usually HATE going to the barber. It used to be a pain in the butt. Then my girlfriend turned me on to Gina's in Grandview and I actually had a good time while getting a killer cut. First of all, I love the ROLLING STONES and I guess the owner, Gina, does too. Gina's has some really cool Stones memorabilia on the walls. It's like getting you haircut at the Hard Rock Cafe or something. Another cool thing about the shop is they play cool music. It's not like going to my dad's barber. And to top it all off, there are like 4 hot chicks working there and they're all cool. It was more like hanging out at a pub with some chicks who actually listen to you instead of going to the dumb barber. Oh yeah, the gal that cut my hair used a razor on my neck which I had never experienced before. It was really cool and classy or something. I dont know if they do that for everyone, but make sure you ask for it. The only thing this place needs is BEER! Pros: IT'S ALL GOOD! Cons: MY HAIR GROWS TOO SLOW, I GOT NO EXCUSE TO HANG OUT THERE FOR 2 WEEKS! more

We love to cut hair! 9/27/2006

This is a response to "greenpepper25"s comment about Gina's Hair Salon. I am the owner of Gina's, and I was very surprised to read your comment about us on citysearch. Of course no salon is perfect, and everyone has their bad days, but in my 25 years of being in business, I have never received such a bad review from a client. My staff and I pride ourselves on giving good service, and I would love for you to contact me personally so we could talk, and remedy this situation. more

Friendliest Salon I have ever been in 9/26/2006

I never let anyone work on my hair and a good friend talked me into trying Gina's because she has been going there for 5 years. I went and I can't believe what they did for me, my hair is very difficult to work with. I have gotten more compliments on my hair than I have ever had. I would recommend anyone who is scared of getting there hair done, as I have been for years, they should give Gina's a try. Very homey atmosphere, felt very welcome. Pros: Made me feel very comfortable more

Truly awful! Run for your life! 9/20/2006

I tried Gina's after reading positive reviews, so I wanted to give others a warning... perhaps I went to the wrong Gina's? The salon that I went to wasn't particularly clean. The girl who pretended to wash my hair didn't even get all of it wet. My haircut was interrupted by the stylist's coffee break-she left me sitting with (partially) wet hair tacked up while she chatted with the other stylists. When she was done, I had bangs. I didn't have bangs when I went into the salon, I just wanted a trim, perhaps she thought I'd look better with them? She had them snipped out before I could say anything, and afterwards I didn't want to annoy her (afraid she'd take it out on my hair). After the cut, she waved her blowdryer at me a few times-she didn't bother to style my hair, or even dry it-my hair was distinctly damp when I left (again I didn't make trouble-I just wanted to go home and try to get used to having bangs). Pros: On time Cons: Everything else! more

LOVE MY CUT 3/31/2006

I'VE BEEN GOING TO GINA'S FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. I HAD BEEN GOING TO A HAIR STYLIST FOR YEARS, BUT I WAS LOOKING FOR A CHANGE. I LOVE THE ATMOSPHERE OF GINA'S AS EVERYONE IS FRIENDLY! I STARTED TAKING MY MOTHER THERE ALSO, AS I FELT SO COMFORTABLE WITH THE STYLIST AND ATMOSPHERE. THE PRICES ARE REASONABLE AND I HAVE ALWAYS WALKED OUT OF THERE BEING QUITE SATISFIED. GREAT WORK LADIES...THANK YOU more

The Best 1/20/2006

It is the Best Haircut in Central Ohio. The staff is friendly, courteous, and easy to talk to. . The atmosphere is great. I recommended Gina's. Pros: Great Service, Great Value Cons: None more

Great cut, with fun experience 1/19/2006

Gina's not only cuts hair for my three boys and me, but the casual, warm people and environment make the whole experience inviting! it's also fun to go down memory lane checking out all the Rolling Stones memorabilia while my kids get a cut. We get great cuts and spend a really nice hour in Grandview, to boot. Pros: Talented sylist, Grandview Atmosphere, Friendly staff more
