Terrible service! I ordered over $50.00 worth of food at 5:10! Was informed it would arrive in 55 minutes. After nearly 3 hours (7:58 )no arrival of my order! I called to cancel and the owner decides to insult me after i refuse their ""oh so generous"" discount of 40% off of my nearly 3 hour late and likely cold order of food. Had the nerve to imply i am inhuman trash (said only inhuman trash would do something like refusing such a generous offer, humans do not act like this) for refusing to buy the food they failed to deliver on time (55 minutes) or even within 2 hours! \r \r That is fine! There are cheaper and better quality of food Chinese restaurants in Alameda! Fortune cookie, chefs wok, china hut, kapok, east ocean, van sengs and many more that are either cheaper or only a $1 more in price and all with better quality food! Gim's only can compete because of it's low prices and diverse menu. But if the owners have the arrogance to treat their customers as inhuman trash they will not be lasting much longer. more

This is the most gangsta chinese takeout ever. I have had chinese food from all over the world and this has to be my favorite place. i grew up in alameda and loved it and i have eaten all over and this is the best i have had. i didn't kno how good it was until i left alameda. more

There are no seats, so this is the ultimate in Chinese Take Out. There is no other option. Gim's makes the best pork fried rice. The first time I ordered it, I couldn't understand the wait. Most places just shovel it out from a warming pan. At Gims the barbecue pork is so hot it burns your tongue. Better than Chinatown for this goodie and cheap, too. Don't get too creative. Order stuff that is popular and that they have plenty of practice with, like their lunch specials. Forget delivery, it takes too long, plus you get charged extra. Pros: Cheap, Good comfort food Cons: To go only more
