When I first went there, I had to do all of the work. I picked out all of the dresses and pretty much had my mom helping me get into them. The lady helping us was nice, but didn't seem fit to physically do her job. I found two dresses I liked. They told me they would be on the floor as they do not sell their floor samples. I looked at other places and made an appointment to go back and try on the two I liked again. The one I really wanted to try on again was no longer there as they sold the sample, which they said they wouldn't do. WHen I asked who the designer was so I could find it somewhere else to try it on, they said they could not tell me unless I bought a dress from them...what? I would not buy a dress without trying it on again. THey already lost my sale by not having the dress and they won't tell me the designer, seriously? They were rude and this policy is stupid. THey not only lost that sale, but I refuse to EVER go back there. more

Found my dress...again! 8/15/2010

I got ""the dress"" here...again! So, my high school graduation, we're required to wear white dresses, so almost 10 years ago (ouch...) I got my white, raw silk, beautiful, still fits, graduation dress here at a very reasonable price! This past weekend I got my wedding dress here! I went in several weeks ago and was helped, listened to, and told where to NOT look to stay within my budget! I put on the first dress and was instantly in love! It was the dress...but Magdalena had my try on several other dresses to be sure, and told me to go home, think about it and try on others! Really? What sales lady would tell me that?!? One who knows I wasn't going to find a better dress, a better quality at a better price and man, was she right! After several other bridal salons and what feels like a billion dresses, I went back, Magdalena pulled my dress and I bought it! Gigi was so sweet when I went down stairs to get measured and put down my deposit! Oh, by the way, did I mention we also found the bridesmaid's dresses here? While I was being fitted my mom, one of my bridesmaids and a good friend of mine were playing with the bridesmaid's dresses (again, we'd already looked at a million!) and there it was! Lines to match my dress, high quality and wonderful! I couldn't be more happy! Yes, the decor is a little funky, but have you met Gigi? So is she, in an awesome way!! more

Rude service, minimally helpful 11/8/2008

From the moment I called Gigi's they were less than helpful. I had to try on a bride's maid dress for an out-of-town wedding for which the bride was purchasing all of the dresses together. I had the style number, but when I called to find out if they had it for me to try on, the woman on the phone didn't care - she just said, ""I'm sure we have it. We have lots of dresses."" So after driving 45 minutes to try on the dress, I got incredibly rude service and snobby attitude. Gigi herself was telling the other sales ladies to tell me to come back another time and that she didn't think they had the dress. Well, they did have the dress and I tried it on, but of course, no one would take my measurements because I wasn't buying the dress there. I'm sure that on occasion, brides order all of their bride's maids' dresses from Gigi's and are forced to ask their out-of-town bride's maids to get measured somewhere else. As a courtesy, Gigi's should have treated me as a customer. After all, I am a potential customer with my own wedding a little over a year away. I will most definitely NOT be going to Gigi's to find my wedding dress. Pros: it looks like they have a lot of dresses Cons: dreary, messy atmosphere; very rude service more

Wonderful selection for gowns. 7/2/2008

So far so good, waiting on my dress that I ordered at the end of April and it should be in any day...it was directly out of a new catalog, not even in a trunk show yet, and they could get it in four months instead of the usual six. To the comment above mine regarding the rating of Gigi's...obviously she is not a seasoned bridesmaid or whatever, neither am I, but I'm sure we all check numerous stores as I have to decide where to order dresses from. I only wish I had ordered my maid's dresses from here...I only ordered mine...I was measured quite well, I was told I was a 16 as well, but one must understand per vendor and designer there are various size charts. Get real girlie and realize that your behind may not be as skinny as you think. Would you not rather have a dress altered to fit than one that makes you look like a cheap hooch? Not your day, not your wedding too bad. They have a great selection and dresses in various sizes to try on. What I had to do was try a bottom similar to my dresses and a seperate dresses top portion to see how it would look. These places cannot stock numerous sizes in the same dress, they would never see the return. I say gigi's is a bit tacky and small inside an far out of my way as I am in Lake Geneva, but it works fine for me and I get the service I need despite semi-rude foreign fitters (It's the cultural difference that makes them seem rude). The cashier and Gigi herself is what makes the business a success. I would definitely give gigi's a try. loyal customer I shall become. Pros: lots of dresses, good location, high quality, knowlegable workers Cons: not ADA accessible, no website, dressing rooms with no doors more

Best Wedding gowns around 1/24/2008

My daughter came in from Hawaii for her wedding gown. We only had three months to put things together. We had heard about the beautiful gowns at Gigi's but were not sure there would be anything suitable for the short time we had for shopping. more

Would NEVER go back! 5/18/2007

My girlfriend picked out bridesmaid dresses from here. They have a wide selection but it's crammed into a little shop...very tight inside. I made an appointment and STILL had to wait to try on the stock dress (size 8 only) and then again to get measured. The kicker...the place was dead. But I must say, the lady behind the register was very nice. Anyways, this place tried to tell me that ""according to the size chart from the designer"" I needed a size 16 dress!!! Now, I know these dresses can run small but I'm a size 10! The size 8 stock dress did not zip up past the bust...which I expected. Naturally, they did not have a size 10, 12, 14, or 16 for me to try on so I trusted them. They told me I needed a 16 due to my bigger bust but when I got the dress it literally FELL OFF of me (obviously NOT a bust issue at this point). What a crock! When I called them to complain they stated that it wasn't their fault and blamed the designer. Here's the scam...they then said they could do the alteration for only $75. HELLO! Scam! Warning....if you deside to shop here do not trust their sizing. Three other girls from our wedding party also have to have major alterations vs. minor ones due to this. Also, if you call to complain they will not do ANYTHING because they have you sign a waiver/contract before you even get your dress that covers their butts. SCAM! Pros: Had lots of merchandise Cons: Everything else more
