We were driving through Boone and found this gem on a Saturday afternoon. We stopped in about 4:30 (before the dinner crowd had arrived) and had sandwiches & drinks. The lunch menu had a decent selection of sandwiches, salads, etc. for a reasonable price in my mind. Of course, there will be those who say $6.50 is too much for a burger, but this is a real restaurant folks. I had the Californian... a grilled turkey sandwich with pesto, roasted red peppers, artichokes & provolone on grilled wheat. It was great. My daughter had chicken strips and my wife had tenderloin that was excellent. The service was a bit slow - even on a Saturday afternoon at 4:30. We waited quite awhile for a refill on drinks. The parking lot needs some work. I imagine that will come in the future. Overall though, we were pleased with the food and that's the main reason we stopped by. I visited the Gigglin Goat despite negative reviews from a co-worker. I found that I should have headed her advice. The wait staff are slow and provide very poor service. Additionally it took close to an hour to receive our order. The only reason I would go back is for the Diablo Pasta which was delicious. If you are a very patient person who has time for slow service you will enjoy your visit but most people will have a poor experience due to poor management of both waitstaff and time management of the chef/cooks.
