Very very poor customer service and extremely RUDE and ill-mannered employees!!
I used to listen to all the commercial on the radio about how great the pharmacy service was at Giant Eagle, and I shop at there all the time for my grocery, which I don't have any complaints about. So I decided to visit the pharmacy for the first time.
Unfortunately this was the worse decision I ever made, I was in lot of pain and I have two prescriptions to fill, one of which came in over the counter strength and with prescription strength. Another prescription I wanted in generic form, which I was told they did have it.
The Pharmacist ""Gary"" who needs to work in warehouse and not behind the counter where he has to interact with customers, said ""I am not sure about this, because one with prescription strength comes with Kenalog, not sure if MD wants this, I will have to check with Dr. I was fine with this and I said, I just came from the Dr.'s office, you may be able to get hold of him. So I waited 15-20 min, he came back and said, he was not able to reach the Dr. left a msg with Dr. Answering machine. In the mean time I was able to get hold of my physician on my cell phone. (he knew that I was in lot of pain, so he had given me his number to reach him) Gary would not talk to him, one another store employee said that MD has to call the store line to speak to The Pharmacist. My Dr. who was driving at that time, pulled over and called back on the store line, they knew he was calling, still they put him on hold, Gary then spoke to him to clarify if he wanted me to have over the counter of prescription strength product. My question is if he wanted me to have over the counter stuff, why would he write the script for it.
Another script that I had, I was told that it comes in generic form and I had specifically asked them to give me that, I was not. The total for both the medication came to $45.00, which I was not given any explanation, why it was so much despite of my insurance card. Pharmacist ""Gary"" who never smiles, never asked me any questions or asked me if I had questions. I was in lot of pain, so I did not say anything.
The support staff that he was working was equally rude and incompetent. When the pharmacy tech was finally giving me my order, she started to give me someone else prescription and started to ring this. Then when I asked for my insurance card back, she looked inside the bag, my card was not there, they started looking for the card everywhere, after looking for it all over the pharmacist noticed that the she was giving me was not my prescription, if I did not ask for the card. I would have come home with someone else's medications. This is not acceptable.
These people should be fired and put under scrutiny. If you want to be in this field you have to be personable, caring, compassionate and above all competent, if you don't have any of these qualities, you should not be working in the field should be baking pizza in the pizza shop.
I was in lot of pain and they did not care for me, not only they were rude to me, but to to the MD who they get their business from. I hope a supervisor or a quality control team member who overlooks this pharmacy reads this review and addresses these issues.
I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN !!
