Best

I finally gave this place a try after living here for several years. We've been back 3 times since. They have over 20 burger styles to choose fro...

Worst

It's your typical greasefest. If it's what you want go for it but your heart will hate it and make you pay.

Maybe Depends on day you go...... 5/23/2005

Stopped by because of the high rating.... The burger patties barly filled half the bun, which was not even warmed.... Fries were OK if eated right away, but turn greasy in minutes... Shakes were thin with more milk than ice cream. The staff could have cared less if they took our order.. (ordered double burgers and got singles) Pros: Fries, Choice of items Cons: Service, Portions, Location more

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! 12/27/2004

We went to Giant's looking for the best burger in town and left with nothing but feeling conned. The burgers were nothing liked described by others. Our burgers tasted almost like they had freezer burn on them. They were just awful. However, on an upside, their shakes were pretty good. We will continue our search for the best burger in town. Pros: Location, Fast Service, Average Prices Cons: , Horrible Taste, Bad Burgers more

Hamburgers 7/25/2003

The hamburgers are good and generous, in size, but they are some of the greasiest hamburgers, I've ever had. You know what they say about grease, though. Where there is grease, there is flavor. This place used to be noted for their individual ""Pecan Pies"". I don't know if they still have them. The owner is an antique auto collector, and has occasional antique auto get-togethers, here. It's fun to see 8 or 10, '56 Chevys & Fords, in front. Pros: 1950's atmosphere, Attracts "Antiques" Cons: Parking is tight, Very busy street, Crowded lunches more

OVerRated ? Not even close. 2/7/2003

Saw a previous post that said this was Over rated. Compared to WHAT? A fresh slab right off a cow? I dont think so. THis was the best burger I have ever had in my life. I'm 31 years old, so I've had my share of burgers !!! Top quality meat you can taste ! Fresh buns and veggies !! Fast service and the price is worth every penny !!!! Ranch burger, Hawaiian , and the filler are my favorites !! They didn't get nominated the last few years for best burger in town for nothing ! They havnt been around for the last 20+ years because they sucked ! Hard to keep a small business going unless they are good ! Return customers make up ALOT of their clientel ! Try for yourself ! Pros: Fast Service, Excellent Food, Excellent Prices Cons: parking can fill quic more

OVER RATED 1/19/2003

I have lived in LO for more than 20 years...The MOST over rated burger in Portland area. Mostly bun and fill, cold buns with little beef little ...Not even the best burger in LO...Stanfords, Tillamook and Ram are much better... Cons: Average at best, expensive for what yo, too much fill - not e more

Giant Burger Rocks! 1/17/2003

Best burger around! My family and I have been going for over 15 years and we have never had a bad meal or service. I highly recommend! more

Good food, Bad service 12/28/2002

Good burgers, but they didn't live-up to the hype. We had poor service--but only have been there once. As a down-towner it wasn't worth drive. Pros: Good food, large portion Cons: serve more

good 11/4/2002

excellent burgers, classic burger joint. lots of different kinds of burgers, all of them giant more

Old School Burger Nostalgia 8/7/2002

Big burgers, lots of different toppings, no additions though. The set up is like an old school burger hop. Order at the counter, your name gets called you have a choice of eating inside at booths or outside at picnic tables. The food is large and in charge, and the atmosphere is simple and relaxing in it's trip down memory lane way. Pros: Quick, cost efficent Cons: no substitutions more

I live in Fort Worth Texas now but grew up in Lake Oswego, OR. The Giant has been around for at least 30 years and whenever I am in LO, I always go to the Giant for a teriyaki burger!!! more

'Shroom' Burger 7/31/2002

It goes without embelishment that quality begets quality. In this case Quality and TLC have created one of the truly great eating experiences of a lifetime! From the moment you enter this small, '50s era Drive-In you are pulled back to a nicer, kinder time, when attention to detail and customer service meant something. As to the 'Shroom' Burger, my taste buds are going crazy just thinking about the high quality beef, cheese and enough mushrooms to put any fungus lover into a tail-spin! The burger is juicy, hugh, and very sloppy!! Neatness is impossible when devouring this delight! For my money, the 'Shroom' Burger can't be beat. ""It's the best burger I have found West of the Mississippi River""! Try it, but have plenty of napkins around, you'll need them!! Pros: Service, Quality Ingredients, Great Value Cons: Parking, Traffic Congestion more

still the best 7/26/2002

Have been a hamburger fan now for 48 years...have been to all that are listed as favorites, and a lot that are not...But there's just something about the food and this place...and it's not all perfect...but...it just sticks with you...family and friends feel the same way...the only place that warrants a special trip out of all the good hamburger joints....maybe that is the real appeal, it is a joint...with really satisfying (on a high emotional, carnivorous level) food...and it is a throwback for sure....maybe that's the secret.... Pros: quantity, quality, inexpensive Cons: often crowded more

Once a year grease fest 7/23/2002

This is a great spot for people who aren't afraid of a little grease in their food. It is not for the health conscious, but for those who want to strain their arteries to the point of bust, and still die happy! Make sure to get the mushroom and swiss cheese burger, fries, and top it off with a legendary blackberry shake! Not a meal for the faint of heart, which is why I only subject my body to it once a year! Enjoy! more

Good burgers 7/18/2002

Good burgers with an ambience of an old time burger joint. Can get very busy. more

Grose 5/23/2002

The service was rude and unproffessional. The burger over rated, and the onion rings greasy. I'm sorry I wasted my time. more

Yum 5/19/2002

I haven't had a Giant Burger in several years, but I can still remember how tasty--and truly giant--they are. One of them, with egg and bacon and a ton of other toppings, is as big as a football. Good spicy fries, too. It's making me hungry just thinking about it. Pros: big portions, cheap Cons: long drive more
