Gf Sprague & Company Inc

I just got an email from G.F. Sprague telling me that I can choose one of three gifts from them for a Christmas present! I can choose 2 hours of handyman work, some type of infrared leak detection, or clean my gutters on my home..My husband and I can't believe it. \r \r I called Sprague and asked them if this was a mistake, and the woman on the phone said no and asked me what would I like and when is a good time for me. I was a blown away on the phone! I put my hand over the mouth piece and said to my husband; ""It's real..they are really doing this for free."" \r \r I had these guys fix my chimney and repair some roof leaks for me I think ? 2 years ago. The job was not that big. I had forgotten about them until I get this email today. Wow! \r \r The work they did 2 years was great, the guys were very professional and neat, and the work is still holding up. One thing I do remember is that Sprague has a 40 year workmanship warranty. So if their work starts leaking, I know who to call. \r \r If you're in the market for roof repair, or gutters, or whatever needs fixing or replacing on your house, give these guys a call...Who knows what gifts they will be giving out next year! I do need a new car... ;-) more

I live in Lincoln Mass and I had GF Sprague replace my slate roof last year. I chose them after spending way too much time interviewing and listening to all the sales pitches and presentations (a bit mind numbing!). But, when you are looking at a $50k price tag, I had to do it! After a bunch of back and forth, and late night conversations with my husband, we ended up choosing GF Sprague. They weren't the cheapest, but they were the most prepared, detailed, and had a bunch of video testimonials on their website which won the day for them. They showed up on time, didn't kill my Azelas with their ladders and scaffolding, and left our home looking great. We didn't have much of a winter at all this year, but I have to say there were no leaks, and now that's its spring the new slate just glistens in the sun. My husband and I highly recommend GF Sprague. more

The contract we signed was NOT ITEMIZED BY COST, and the total cost, in view of the actual number of hours of work done, was outrageous. Hal Davis, the salesman, grossly inflated the number of workers, the number of hours, and the equipment required to repair our roof, then, after we had signed, failed to return our phone calls and took 3 weeks to even deliver a copy of the work plan, as promised. Production Manager Bob Scribner behaved in a thuggish and unprofessional manner during every phone call subsequent to our signing, calling us at 8 a.m. the day after the last workman left, to demand immediate payment (like a loan shark dealing with a delinquent client) and then breaking his promise to wait 5 days before charging our account. The work seems satisfactory, but Sprague's dealings with customers are so disturbing as to outweigh whatever good work they may do, and their charges are fraudulent. Jerry Sprague, president of the company, whom we wrote to, failed to address our complaints, and by his indifference left the distinct impression that all of the above is standard company practice. Don't believe a word of this company's hype. more

My experience with GF Sprague was excellent. At first I was a little taken back with all the paperwork and process. However, as the project unfolded and came to understand why they do what they do...I asked project manager about this and he replied; ""well, you got to learn something after doing this roofing gig for 40+ years!"". more
