After using this lawn service for probably 15 years (previous owner was father and was totally different than current owner Thomas, which is the son), I recently started having several issues with service. The sago palm in my front bed was putting out 3 small additional palms that I planned to replant in other beds after they grew up a little larger (they were already large enough for replanting, but was going to wait until they were almost full grown). After one of Geoscapes visits for ""lawn care"" I noticed that all the extra palms had been dug up without my knowledge or permission and removed from my property. I called their office immediately and was told that they would bring them back and place them back in my bed. Why did they take them to begin with? No answers provided on that one. They brought them back ( no, they had not thrown them away and in fact had them fully preserved??) and replanted them in my bed. Removing full grown palms without your knowledge or permission from your yard when you are just having a group out to mow and trim is not acceptable. Some weeks later, after planting a full bed of tulips, the men came out for lawn care and took the leaf blowers and removed every single flower petal from the 8 tulips I just planted, along with all the other flowers in the bed already planted. After calling again to the office, I was told that the crew was inexperienced and ""sometimes that happens"". The last straw was when the rain sensor went out in the sprinkler system Geoscapes installed. The part was a Hunter part still under warranty, per even the guidelines online for Hunter, which my husband found and provided Geoscapes, but after several emails and calls to both the owner, his assistant, and two secretaries/helpers in the office, no calls were returned. I finally called today after almost 2 weeks of attempts to speak to Thomas, the owner himself. Instead of being apologetic to for not returning calls directly to his cell phone, he said I should not get so upset over a little rain sensor and I could pay over $100 for the replacement if I wanted it. I tried to explain the part was under warranty, but he was not interested in listening and just repeated I could pay the fee, or keep the dead sensor, he didn't care which. I then tried to explain the other poor service experiences I had recently after being a customer for 15 years, in addition to not even being provided a call back. I explained I spent in excess of $15,000 in flower bed work alone within a 3 month span, not including the sprinkler installation and monthly calls for lawn care. He then resorted to yelling and name calling and became abusive saying that he didn't need to hear how the palms were taken, or how my flowers were demolished and our conversation was over as he was tired of listening to me and I was going to listen to him now and then he proceeded to cuss me out. (Yes he actually cussed me out at full volume). I was in shock that someone would treat a customer like this, much less a female, and I actually asked how treating someone this way and saying those things made sense over what was really a $30 part. He stated that he didn't need my business. I offered that I would also be glad to share this experience with as many as I could and he stated, ""you go ahead and do that because I don't give a $#(*&$ who you tell. I don't need you and I don't need whoever you tell either.""
I would not want anyone to have the experience I just had on the phone, and per the owner's own words, he does not care if he has your business anyway, so I would recommend not using Geoscapes EVER.
