Dr. Peppard is a wonderful vet. He is kind, compassionate, skilled & knowledgable. I've taken all my pets to him & Georgetown Vet Clinic for more than a decade. I highly recommend him, Dr. Nancy Handley & the entire staff. They are the best. more

I agree with the other review of Dr. Peppard. He's either incompetent or his business model is to not diagnose your pet's problem until he has exhausted all means of charging you for unnecessary tests. I left there up to my ears in fees with no insight as to what might be wrong with my pet. These jokers should have a maximum cap they can charge you for a diagnosis so you don't feel like they are charging you for throwing darts in the dark. more

Dr. Peppard is thoroughly incompetent. He misdiagnosed my pet's ailments, prescribed his meds incorrectly, and botched his surgery. Georgetown did nothing to correct Peppard's mistakes. Avoid Georgetown and especially Peppard. more

We have used this Veterinary group for over seven (7) years for ALL of our pet needs from big dogs to little dogs. The doctors are most proficient in handling most any case each sized canine presents. Our old Mastiff is amazingly calm when in their offices and I know he feels he is being treated with the very best of care while our daughter's Yorkie from Boston (a very temperamental soul) seemed to like his care as well! Charlottesville is truly blessed to have such a fine Veterinary facility staffed by such caring doctors who are backed up by a wonderful and organized support staff. A HEARTY FIVE STARS HERE!!! more

I move around a lot, and have taken my pets to vets in a lot of places. This place has been wonderful. The vets are so nice, and it is not hard to get an appointment. The first time I came to this office, it was because I had just moved to town, my dog became alarmingly ill overnight, and I tried to walk into Hydraulic Animal Hospital when they opened in the morning. The people there were incredibly rude and told me to go away because I was not a regular customer. I ended up at Georgetown and they were great. more

Our dog has received care from Georgetown for almost seven years. I have been pleased with his care and really feel that these are folks I can trust. I like the size of the hospital and I find their prices to be extremely reasonable. more

I am a private rescue for abandoned and abused dogs, have worked with at least 20 vets in the Charlottesville VA area and this is BY FAR the best vet in the area and now I use them almost exclusively. I saw someone's "bad" rating for this vet and was incredulous -- he said they failed to do bloodwork and couldn't figure out that his pet had diabetes, which might have happened if they were trying out a new vet at one point but NONE of their current vets (4 total) is that green, and all of their current vets are stakeholders in the operation. They are thorough and competent and caring, everything I want in a vet and hard to find all in one place. They refer to excellent specialists in cases requiring same (ACL surgery, etc.) Their prices are reasonable for the area (better than many), their surgery and follow-up care is top notch, I wholeheartedly recommend them to any domestic pet owner. more

I was taking my dog there, over and over again for the same stuff, could never diagnose what was wrong w/ my dog...my dog kept getting worse, overweight, sleeping, not active, didn't have no clue what it was... had to get 2nd opinion, well, my dog has diabetes!! Georgetown never thought to run bloodwork looking for this, my dog is great now, on insulin but otherwise fine! The dr. seemed very clueless at times and not very confident in his answers with anything, sorry but i had to go... everyone was very nice there though more

We have used them for a year. Expensive like every other vet in town but they have not tried to add on unnecessary stuff like our previous vet. Very good on the phone. more

We have used this vet for years and have been quite satisifed. It is a larger practice, which means that you can almost always get an appointment. Once you get there, the receptionist is very efficient, and we almost never wait more than a minute or two to get in. ALl the vets seem to genuinely love the animals, which is nice as a pet "parent." more
