Georges Garage And Towing

I was recently towed by George's Garage & Towing, from a very bad accident with my work vehicle. They where very kind to me and my family and they helped me in any way they could. Tony ,Rachael and Katy went way above and beyond what i thought would happen. They made calls on my behalf to my insurance.Tony even paid me for the stone in my truck after i offered to give it to them for free. ""thank you"" This saved me a second tow bill to job site and covered the cost of the stone. I wish there where more companies like this that look out for the little guy who just wants to be able to support his family. more

I don’t know where these people got towed to, but Tony is an honest man.\r My 92 year old mother and I were towed there after running over a piece of pipe on the turnpike. He was completely straight with us. He is a decent and good man. He helped my mother and me through an extremely difficult time. In short, he was a pleasure to work with and was fair as the day is long.\r The best thing about running over this pipe was meeting Tony and his staff. They truly saved the day. more

June 2012\r \r I had my A/C serviced there. They quoted me under $100 but the total bell came to $145. They overcharged the A/C which made the compressor come on and off all the time. When I called them, I was told it was normal. Took the car to another garage and had the same service done again but this time for only $60. Confirmed that George's garage had put significantly more fluid into the system (1.8 pounds rather than the maximum of 1.18 pounds). When I called to complain and ask for a refund, I was told that I should I have brought the car back there and no refund. I would never take my car there again. They are unethical, overpriced and incompetent. more

I had a significant problem with my Lumina this week and after calling for a tow from Georges I googled the place on my phone while I waited for the truck.. All the negative reviews didn't leave me with an easy feel yet I tol;d myself these likely are all pissed off that ship Does happen people taking there misfortune out on someone else...Turns out I was right on that aspect....The tow guy was fine, Tony the MNGR was very resonable (They're not ObamaCare Towing)and the girl working the office/phones was pleasant...I got through my misfortunes and in retrospect at a fair price... Let me preface this review by saying that if I could give out negative stars, I would. It is one thing to have your car towed, but it is another to have the car be mistreated and made to feel like you are the scum on somebody's shoes when retrieving it.\r \r After getting incorrect directions to pick up my car (hey George, you might not know that there is a difference between North and South, but there is, in fact, a monumental disparity), I arrived to a less than friendly staff. The bill was outrageous – I was charged for two days of ""storage,"" even though up my car was towed at approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday morning and picked up at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. I explained to the assistant that I tried to pick up my car on Sunday, however they were closed. When I asked to see the manager about this issue, she stormed out of her office and told me: ""They don't work for free!"" Yes, I can see how my car sitting in a parking lot for about 30 hours is a huge working time constraint for you.\r \r Knowing that I was obviously fighting a losing battle, I took at my debit card to pay and was informed that they only accepted cash for tows. Well thanks for the heads up! I only had $75 in cash. When I asked if she would take a check or use my debit for the rest, she refused and ""kindly"" told me there was a bank around the corner. Obviously, this woman forgot that customer is the first word in ""customer service."" \r \r When I finally did get my car, the seats and floor was covered in mud and grease AND it smelled like an ashtray, complete with cigarette ashes all over the dashboard.\r \r Talk about an award winning experience. \r \r One more thing, I realize that for some this may discredit my review, but after the awful treatment I received I can't help but offer two words of advice to the oh-so-wonderful manager: Weight Watchers.\r \r more

If I could post 0 stars, I would. Over priced. No compassion. They don't responsibly take care of your property. Unfortunately my hands were tied (like most others, because there is apparently some politics going on there) and I had to use them. Given a choice I would have chosen any other service on the planet. If you are fortunate enough to have a choice, go anywhere else. I wouldn't recomend this place to my worst enemy. At this point it's not even about the money anymore it's about being a decent human being. this is an example of abuse of power and what is wrong with our society. I don't blame the people this owner employs i blame the people who make the policies that don't have to look into the eyes of the people they rip off everyday... I broke down on the NJ Turpk., my windshield wipers stopped working & it was pouring out. The tow truck arrived and had to tow me to his shop (NJ law). I'm not familiar with the area or mechanics. I spoke to the women at George's Garage, explained my situation & that it could just be a link & I could possibly get it back home in order to prevent AAA from having to come out. (I don't pay for the tow so it was at no expense to me) I saw them bring my car into the garage for a total of 10 min. They said a part needed to be replaced & it may take a few days bc he had to order it from the dealership. I thought well I can't have my car out here for a few days. Then they gave me a bill for $85. I was more than disheartened/shocked. I work very hard & know when someone is ripping me off. I asked the women/mechanic, very calmly, how could you charge me $85 for 10min? There was an uncomfortable answer(I'm sure this isn't the first time they have gotten this ?. They knew in their heart it wasn't right) I brought the car to my mechanic, he looked at the car, ordered the part & fixed it in 2 hours. Part $16-total bill $65. I called George's they of course had no sympathy. I explained I don't mind paying for their time but $85 for 10 min for job that was done fast/$65 how is this honest & good business?! They had nothing to say but they know they ripped me off. I think its a shame that when your broken down in torrential downpours & get towed by Turnpike certified trucks, you get brought to a place like this. I would have let them fix it,had the guy said we can get the part and do it for you (COULD YOU IMAGINE WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE CHARGED?). The service I received is not caring for your customers & not good business. This was a matter of a 10 min look under my hood. There are good honest shops that would have charged me a fair rate for their 10 min of time, especially if I had called them back to explain the situation. I am positive that i am not the only one who has been ripped off by George & think people that make money this way are just legal thieves. Bad Karma being spread on that corner more

My fairly new and in perfect shape car was towed to George's. When I went to pick it up, back bumper was scratched, scraped and dented. The drivers seat, floor mats and steering wheel were covered in black grease. When I made a comment about this they told me to show proof that it was done there. The Hightstown police made a joke amongst themselves as they were calling George's tow service: something about what the idiots at George's do the cars once they get their hands on them. I was barely in ear shot, but apparently they are well aware of George's ""attention to detail"". Once again, people in power do what they want to you, and you have no recourse. New Jersey is the most corrupt state in this country! more

they are horrible. i would never ever ever go there again. they are ovr charged and rude, never have i ever delt with such nasty attitudes. more

I had my truck towed into georges garage on friday and the mechanic was able to just change the fuel \r filter and get it going again. The mechanic tony even stayed after closing to finnish the job! thanks guys!!! I would recommend them to anynone! Pros: They care more

Nothing but a bunch of con artists, expecially that tony bum, or whatever his name is..the son in law..overcharge for work not performed, pad invoices..not just me, but also the apartment complex vehicles they work on..the work is sub-par..should have done it myself, if i wasn't too busy, or too cold...wouldn't send my worst enemy there..these guys are just a pack of parts-changers..not one true mechanic in the bunch, no matter what they think..Have been there before, as a last resort..total of 4 times, and EACH TIME i had to either adjust or repair their work. Pros: none..unless you're looking for horror stories to tell your friends Cons: anything you can think of...the whole place is a con..as well as they are con-artists...get it?? more

I broke down on the NJ Pike on the way from Philly to NY this weekend. The NJ auto-club had a guy (Bob) from George's come and tow me in...... I was worried about the costs, and, of course, about these guys telling me I needed a million things done because i was out of town, and without their service I couldn't get my car out of central NJ. \r \r It was a very simple problem, they diagnosed it, fixed it, and didn't charge me anything for it. I'm really grateful, and happy to give a review. They could have told me it was anything, but they didn't. Thanks! Pros: nice folk, honest assesment of problems more
