I have been here 3 times, once when they first opened, so you know the service was bad, but it was just the first week, so we agreed to chalk it up to that and give it a second chance many weeks later. The Menu is vast perhaps too many choices and some a bit unusual. Still the service was even worse the second time, seemed they really didn't know what was going on. I did notice the people who seemed to run, or own the place kinda just stood around and bossed folks around, there was a lady sitting on a sofa in a make shift game area who was clearly in a bad mood, and there wasn't anyone in the building that didn't know it. My partner and I decided we would not go back, I mean for our hard earned money it was just a bad experience all around.
Then a banner, ""New Staff"" I kinda thought that would not really help because I really think it's a management issue, but I gave in, and went by myself this week. Well the man who I think owns the place has no real clue as to what customer service is, I waited a few minutes at the door and when I finally got his attention, I asked if I was to seat myself, he called for someone from the back, as if he was far too important to actually help a customer. The waiter, who was much too experienced and accommodating, told me I could seat myself. Now why couldn't the owner/manager tell me that? I ordered the Meatloaf sandwich which the waiter told me was a bit different (Greek Style) which I appreciated, so I ordered the daily special, cheese burger and fries, which were, not good, I would have rather had a McDonald's Quarter Pounder, then this dry frozen burger and stale bun. Although it was the special and was a good price, I still work very hard for what little money I get, and this was clearly not worth what I paid. While I was waiting for my food to come I was treated to the view of watching a waiter lean over the front counter to eat her meal, Do these folks just not get it?
When I was ready to leave, hmmmn first I was not offered desert, I guess because the shift change and the waiter had left and I was left with the waitress who ate her meal in front of the whole dining room. She is the one who also worked the register, she took my debit card and went to the back room, (the customers card should never, I mean never be taken from the customers view) and then the woman who seems to be one of the owners came back with it, that made me very uneasy. Over all I have to say I can't believer they remain open, I really think the banner out front means nothing, It's not a staff problem It's very obvious It's a management problem. Perhaps their parking lot is always empty as you can see employee's smoking out front every time you pass by. I will not be giving George's anymore of my hard earned money.
Pros: hmmnn, never a wait
Cons: I finally had a good server
