It had been awhile since we had been to Genusa's so we went for our daughters birthday, Sat. night Jan. 8, 2011. There were 4 of us plus our 4 yr old granddaughter. We ordered drinks, they came in small 8oz glasses with lots of ice. $8 each for about 5 small swallows. (Went to another bar after, ordered same drink, paid $4 and got more drink less ice.) Ordered duck appitizer, was very tasty but each bit size piece of duck was about 1/4 fat, but still not to bad. I ordered the veal chop and our daughter ordered veal cutlets. My wife ordered the special, seafood stuffed eggplant, which came out hot and was not to bad but skimpy for the price. My veal chop ($33) was MORE than half fat, I got maybe 5 decent sized bits from it, and it was barely luke warm. Which, considering the fat content, made it much worse. My daughters veal cutlets were served very cold, so she sent them back. When she got them back they had been microwaved!! Does anyone know what microwaving thin meat does to the meat? If you do then you know that it is very evident when it is microwaved! It was awful! The waitress wasn't to bad, but water glasses were not refilled and when the young man delivered our meals the waitress was busy elsewhere and he had no idea what went where. They also brought us an order of paste with marinara which we did not order, but it was a good thing or I would not have had much to eat. Just for my wife and I our bill was over $100. We were so disappointed, this used to be my favorite restaurant. Now we will be go to Geno's!!
