We first started to go to the Gentle Cat Doctor when it was in Bryn Mawr. Dr. Neely diagnosed one of our cats when our other vet could not and the care she gave all the cats was excellent. She and her staff provided excellent treatment to our cats. They did, however, often recommend expensive tests, most of which we turned down. After she had been treating our cats for a number of years, she refused to put down one of our cats (17 years old) who was very, very ill and in pain. She want to hospitalize her and give her painful and expensive tests to see if she could be kept alive. We refused, and decided to take her to another vet. That vet said she had many health problems and that she had little chance of recovery. That vet euthanized her, and even sent us a personal sympathy note a week or so after.
