Genki Sushi

We used to love this place when we moved to the area, but a few years ago I'm guessing the management or ownership changed. The prices went up and the quality went down. Fish didn't seem as fresh-- in fact, we got takeout one night and that was the end for us -- some of the rolls were just a little too fishy. Service is OK, nothing to write home about.\r \r Menu is straightforward -- not too many fancy or creative rolls to choose from. They had the nerve to charge $1 extra for every hand roll with no rice, even though it's the same amount of fish, and no rice-- that makes no sense except they are just trying to nickel and dime people. \r \r Agoura seems to have too many sushi places nowadays, so there are plenty to choose from. We like Sushi & Wasabi as well as Sushi Raku. We also just tried Ocean Blue for takeout, which had pretty good food. I wouln't waste time on this place -- it's at best mediocre. more

This is a great little sushi place in the westlake village. This place can easily be a place where you can get a quick bite to eat, a place to take your date, or even a place to have a meal with the family. They're very accomodating to children and their overall service is great. I've been to my fair share of sushi restaurants and this restaurant would most definitely be in my top 3. (the other two are MUCH MUCH more pricier than genki) If ever the toro sushi is available TRY IT! It's wonderfully delightful you will not regret it. I've been going to this restaurant for a while now and have tried many of their rolls. I have yet to be disappointed with any of them. You might be skeptical of the quality of food and service there from what it looks like from the outside as it is not a fancy place however don't let that fool you. This place serves THE BEST sushi in the ventura county. It is definitely worth the drive to go to Genki Sushi. I absolutely love it and you will too if you ever get the chance to try their food!
