My recent stay at Good Sam's cardiac care unit was an interesting experience to say the least. I have been in other hospitals for similar services here in Ohio as well as Winston Salem North Carolina. First let me say the staff were helpful and friendly and the food service is second to none. The food is very tasty served hot and good presentation. \r
What I experienced in other units are as follows. Through the night so long as one is resting well I was not bothered in any way, the nurses carried small flashlights so as the need to turn lights on was not necessary. I was shocked at the noise level on the unit and the fact rooms were shared at Good Sam. I felt much anxiety from the confined area. I was also very annoyed as the staff entered the room at night how noisy they were and inconsiderate to the other patient in the room. Nothing is more aggrevating than to be sleeping and rudely awakened to take vitals. Why wear the monitors and such if we are going to be awakened any way !!!!!!!!!!!! What I found in other locations were more RN'S with less work load. It appears to me they were trained to be more in tune with cardiac patients. It is my feeling as well as other cardiac patients opinions a bigger area is important the feeling of confinement can be overwhelming. \r
Over all I was disappointed in the cardiac care unit. \r
