Genesis Salon at Webb Gin

Yesterday was my first experience at Genesis. The staff was very pleasant and the atmosphere was "accepting". I have been in shops before where you felt like an outsider. Great place to go!! more

This was my first visit with Kimber and overall I was extremely pleased with the services I received. I had brought a photo of the highlights I had in mind and based on my hair type she gave me a cut that framed my face well and added extra body and fullness for my hair type. The only suggestion I would have is to provide the client with pricing especially if they are coming in for one thing and end up with another. I had thought I would be spending $125 plus tip and ended up at $170 plus tip. Obviously this is a big difference which, given what we did I understand but it should be discussed. I should have asked as well before proceeding, so lesson learned. Kimber did a great job and I will definitely be coming back! more

This place has been fantastic to me. I've gotten my hair cut by a stylist named Hannah a few times, and she is GREAT. She's super friendly and always gives me some seriously great haircuts. She puts no pressure on you to buy hair products. Her cuts are $25 but are worth twice that. My boyfriend took me to an upscale place in Atlanta where the cut was 3 times that, and the guy botched my hair. The whole time I was wishing that I would have just gone to Genesis instead! I've been there a time or two where a new girl has cut my hair, and they're usually a little timid, but they've never done me wrong. It's best to find a stylist there by recommendation - It seems to me that each stylist is a little different in terms of technique. It does stink, however, because every time I seem to find a stylist I like, they end up being so freakin' good that they get promoted to one of Genesis's more upscale salons, and their price goes up with them! I found out about this salon from the Salon 124 website, while the stylists from Genesis don't have the years of experience that the stylists from 124 have, they certainly do know what they are doing and they're priced a little lower than 124. When I called for my appointment, the receptionist was really nice, letting me know which stylists were available and their level so i can get an idea of prices. My stylist Dani is amazing, she completely understood what I wanted and was able to work with me to get my highlights the perfect carmel color (it was my first time getting full highlights). I also like how down to earth she is, she doesn't make me feel uncomfortable and she always asks me about how things are in between visits. My only drawback is the location (it's about a 20 mile drive), but everytime I go in I always walk out looking great. However, Dani told me she may be moving to Salon 124 soon, so looks like I'll be moving with her too :) Pros: Great value, never too busy, love Dani as my stylist Cons: Location more
